Opening April 2 at 5685 Cunard Street---the former location of Pretty Things Boutique, just off the Commons---is Penelope’s Boutique (420-9164, penelopesconsignmentclothing.ca). The brainchild of Penny MacAuley, it’s a high-end women’s consignment store, carrying the work of local designers, accessories and select vintage items. Check them out if you need minor alterations done, or become a regular customer and take advantage of VIP discounts, email and special promotions. And the local designers? They include Jere Brooks’s fashion accessories, Michael Doyle’s fine art (note cards and postcards), Anna Chow’s jewellery and Asian-styled clothes, and work by Jennifer Coveyduc and Charlie Doucet.
