The tampon/pad receptacles are up to the rim...and its been like that for over a week. Charming.

This week, we tackle bathrooms at the city-owned Khyber building. Our hot tipper writes, “The tampon/pad receptacles are up to the rim...and its been like that for over a week.” Charming.

Remarks: Doug Rafuse, facilities manager for the city, checks into the problem. “The HRM is responsible for cleaning common space in the building...we started doing that once a week, now it’s been upped to three times a week.” So, why the overflowing tamponial refuse? Well, despite the cleaning stipulations outlined on the lease, there has been some confusion over who is responsible for cleaning what. Rafuse says the city and Khyber board are working together to clear any remaning confusion. And tampons.

Who's Responsible?: HRM Public Works department...kind of.
