First we'll take you back to Canadian Music Week, where DJ Cosmo nabbed first place in the finals of a competition that crawled across 10 Canadian cities in a month. Judges included Kanye's DJ A-Trak, Neil "not the astronaut" Armstrong and Mat The Alien. The win comes with $2,500.
Meanwhile, a bit further west—California—Dave Carroll was awarded first place in the acoustic folk category of the Unisong International Songwriting Contest for his song "Now." And now Carroll's got a thousand bucks US.
