After Kara Bargmann's father told her a story about a friend of his who had a geode that he refused to crack open, she got to thinking about nature's mysteries. The element of wonder that made the geode so valuable to her dad's friend piqued her interest in crystal specimens, which eventually led to her fascination to the "organic geometry" that can be found in her Tangents jewellery series. "Everything I learned about crystals, different crystal systems and their ways of growing just baffled me," says the New Jersey native and NSCAD student. "It's amazing that nature is capable of such perfect angles and symmetry; that kind of perfection isn't what you generally think of when you think "organic". Bargmann's collection of stunning geometric rings, brooches and copper neckpieces has been in the works since January. Feast your eyes on this organic bling bling, you'll wish you were wearing it.
