Get out the rum: Trailer Park Boys are opening the Atlantic Film Fest

Will the red carpet go plaid at this year's street party?

Will these guys get past security?

So we just received word that Trailer Park Boys Countdown to Liquor Day will open the 29th Atlantic Film Festival, which starts on September 17 and runs until the 26th.

Update: There are a few changes people should know about this year. After the opening night screenings, the red carpet will roll out at the Metro Centre, instead of Argyle Street. But there will still be music and 19+ entry. Tickets go on sale Monday for the gala and party ($25 each) at the Ticketpro Call Centre (422-6965 or 1-888-968-9090), online at ticketpro.ca, or in person at any outlet. VIP packages (party and film) are available exclusively through atlanticfilm.com ($100). The Box Office will open to the public on September 2nd, but this year it's located on the main level of Park Lane Mall. Look for an announcement on August 18 with the Atlantic Program line-up, along with details about a new "Collectors Edition Program Guide."
