The deluxe version of Bob Mould’s latest CD finds Mr. Mould returning to what has kept him on the alternative scene for more than 20 years; but this is not an artist mining past glories. Body of Song shows the right mix of electronic and guitar tones. “(Shine Your) Love Light Hope” will catch old fans off-guard with its dance beat, while “Underneath Days,” “Beating Heart The Prize” and “I Am Vision, I Am Sound” show the signature Bob Mould sound (with ex-Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty). The bonus CD features dance re-mixes of tunes by Blowoff bandmate/DJ Rich Morel and acoustic numbers that would fit on previous release Workbook.
