Fid Resto and Boulangerie le Vendeenne owners inducted into prestigious French academy

Dennis Johnston and Jean Marc Riant receive international recognition

Congratulations to Dennis Johnston and Jean Marc Riant, chef and head baker respectively from Fid Resto (1569 Dresden Row, 422-9162) and Boulangerie le Vendeenne (Halifax Farmers' Market, 1496 Lower Water Street), who have both been inducted into one of the world’s most prestigious culinary organizations.

They are now part of the Académie Culinaire de France, two of only 25 Canadian food professional members. The Académie Culinaire de France, founded in 1883 by Joseph Favre, author of the Universal Dictionary of Cooking, represents the elite of the profession of the pastry and culinary arts.
