Adventurous Activities to do this Summer near Halifax

Summertime is best spent on the road searching for your next adventure.

Whatever your idea of exploring is – or whenever nature calls – the All-New 2022 Volkswagen Taos is always game.

With its generous passenger space, the Taos invites you and up to four friends to come along for the ride, or let it just be you, your partner and the open highway. Dare the Taos to accompany you on a photo adventure or challenge it to pack your camping gear to the brim; even though this is VW’s smallest SUVW, its impressive cargo volume can handle the load.

We can keep telling you about the affordable German engineering and standout design, but why don’t we show you? Let’s take it out for a little road test and see how the new Volkswagen fits into your adventure.

Head out for a surf
Drive the scenic route up to Lawrencetown Beach, home to Nova Scotia’s surfing scene. With consistent waves that are perfect for every skill level, you don’t have to be confident on the ocean to cruise for the day. The East Coast Surf School is the closest to Halifax and just like the Taos, they’ll go at your pace.

Show it off at the market
Pick up your local produce in style at Alderney Landing – but don’t forget to pre-order first! Once you’ve got your market goodies stowed away in the Taos (don’t be scared to use up that trunk space), head into Dartmouth for a little F&B at some of our favourite breweries and restaurants.

Pack it up for a glamping trip
Why ride in style and then pitch an ordinary tent? East Coast Glamping brings you all the fun of camping but takes out the hassle of pitching your own tent. All you have to do is pack your gear for those lush outdoor photo-ops, without worrying about a tent, use the room for your food, and just focus on exploring the great outdoors.

Cruise over for an after-work paddle
Life in Nova Scotia is half spent on land and half on water. When you’re not sailing smoothly in your Taos, you may as well be gliding on the open waters. East Coast Outfitters has your single or multi-day stand-up paddle board or sea kayak tour waiting. You can explore the rocky coasts, see some local wildlife, or just enjoy a peaceful sunset paddle with your babe.

Test it on the terrains
…just to a cottage by Peggy’s Cove, that is. But with 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive and a responsive, turbocharged engine, you wouldn’t notice a couple of climbs and rocky pathways in the Taos. It will keep you safe, so you’ll be able to keep your eyes on the view of that lighthouse.
