Don’t say the Ecology Action Centre isn’t busy. The winners of this year’s Best Activist Organization have the continued honour of existing in a province with abundant natural resources and a government that keeps messing them up. The EAC had been hard at work this year as Nova Scotia announced it would ban hydraulic fracturing and then quietly walked that promise back in the legislation. A potential Energy East pipeline, fragile water systems and the loss of forestry—environmental activism can be a frustrating job. So enjoy the win, EAC!
