Ready to Ramble

The Moonshine Ramblers are gearing up to head west

The Ramblers dig oak paneling.

Of course a crew of alt-country, bluegrassers would be driving across the country in Matt Minglewood's old van."It's quite a cool van. It's a 15 passenger, with customized interior...oak panelling on the ceiling, very retro," boasts Andrew Sneddon of the Ramblers' sweet find. There'll be a major bluegrass void in Halifax this spring as the always spirited Moonshine Ramblers, along with friends Tom Terrell and The Modern Grass Quartet, work their way out to Victoria playing 28 dates across the country. They'll set off right after they play an ECMA showcase in Charlottetown in April. Thanks to a little bit of funding and a whole lot of planning, they'll be on the road until July. But keep your eyes and ears peeled for a perfect parting gift: The Ramblers plan to have a new release ready to tide you over until they return. –Allison Saunders
