Beam me up, Scotty! Star Trek's coming to Halifax. Or at least Manu Intiraymi (best known for his role as Icheb in Star Trek: Voyager) is.

Intriaymi has joined the Hal-Con 2012 lineup that already includes John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones), Nicholas Briggs (Doctor Who), Rene Auberjonois (Batman Forever, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and Paul and Storm (The Bob and Tom Show, Dr. Demento).

Atlantic Canada's largest sci-fi, gaming, fantasy and comic convention will also be featuring a large lineup of graphic artists and comic writers this year, most notably American writer Gail Simone who writes Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey comics, Batgirl and co-writes The Fury of Firestorm.

Hal-Con says: "Hal-Con is also thrilled to have talented artists such as Steve McNiven (Meridian, Civil War, Amazing Spiderman, Captain America), Nick Bradshaw (Army of Darkness/Darkman), Darwyn Cooke (The New Frontier), Geof Isherwood (Heroes of The North), Joel Duggan (founder of Animafax Entertainment), J.R. Faulkner (Promises Promises), Ramon Perez (Butternutsquash) and Mark Oakley (Thieves & Kings, The Seventh Expert, Jenny Mysterious)."

More announcements are being made at warp speed, so keep checking the smoothly running cogs at Hal-Con HQ.
