As we've
mentioned, the
Halifax Independent Film Festival is in town this week. The festival has joined forces with
Women In Film & Television -Atlantic and will be screening recent films written or directed by women hailing from Atlantic Canada. It’ll be happening at the Lord Nelson (1515 South Park Street, 423-6331) this Thursday, April 7, at 9pm. Tickets are $10 for regular folk, $8 for students and seniors.
Filmmakers from all four Atlantic provinces will be represented at the event. The ladies will stick around after the show and take part in a discussion panel along with members of the WIFT.
Nine films are being featured at this particular screening. Titles listed that make me want to attend include
Ken Fucks Up and
Mud. For more info on this show, or anything else playing the festival this week, check out
