Massage Therapists Association of Nova Scotia

Supporting massage therapists from graduation through their careers

Justin Brown
I'm a Registered Massage Therapist at Massage Addict (Lacewood)

I've been active all my life, and have had a strong interest in the human body: how it moves and how it functions. Massage therapy allows me to explore and understand how people function on many levels, and gives me the tools and knowledge to help people reach—or return to—their peak functionality.

Every patient is a unique individual who requires a slightly different approach, and the staff at CCMH really emphasized the critical-thinking aspect of assessing and treating patients. My training gave me the confidence to approach a wide variety of conditions and situations in my practice, which helped me get employment at my current location.

CCMH does a great job of preparing their graduates for the workforce. My first day on the job felt a lot like one of our clinic nights in school. It was a natural transition, and by the second or third treatment I was 100 percent comfortable in my new setting.

I became a member of the Massage Therapists Association of Nova Scotia because many of the teaching staff at my college are members of MTANS. Additionally, MTANS has a purely RMT membership pool, and is committed to working towards getting legislation through to make massage therapy a regulated practice.
