Superbowl Sunday shindigs

While the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts have been preparing to battle it out Sunday at the Super Bowl, we uncovered some fun parties for you get your game day fill.

Winston's

If you're looking for a Louisiana-style, all-you-can-eat tailgate party, Winston's is the spot. There'll be hot dogs, smokies, hamburgers, New Orleans snake bites and rajun-Cajun mussels served by the Bud Girls. You'll also have a chance to win a trip for two to next year's Super Bowl (and other prizes). It all starts at 4pm and is $10---unless you read about it here, and in that case it's $5.

Clayton Park Shopping Centre, 278 Lacewood Drive, 443-7024

Parkside Pub & Grill

Super Bowl time means it's also time for Parkside's formal ball: 30 guys who played football 29 years ago play tackle football dressed in tuxes. That's right, tuxes. The men will play in Shannon Park, then help each other over to Parkside Pub to nurse their wounds and watch the Super Bowl. Join these hardcore players in their celebration.

14 Highfield Park Drive, 464-1310

Pogue Fado

The Pogue has a big screen TV for your Super Bowl needs, $10 pitchers and all-you-can-eat chili for two bucks. Eat your heart out, but don't be offended if no one wants to sit near you Monday morning.

1581 Barrington Street, 429-6222

Gorsebrook Lounge

What's a Super Bowl party listing without the resident university football bar? Gorsebrook Lounge is throwing a party with prizes from Labatt, and t-shirts for the first 60 people through the door. Watch the game on one of the smaller 11 TVs, or gather around the big screen to see the Saints and Colts duke it out.

Saint Mary's University, Student Centre, 922 Robie Street, 496-8703
