What's the difference between breakfast and brunch? Mostly whether or not your OJ's been spiked. Lindsay Jones, bar boss at The Middle Spoon (1563 Barrington Street), says if she's having a cocktail with her late-morning meal, it's got to be fresh, light and easy-drinking enough that she can have two without fear of getting tipsy. "Alcohol, in general, is a part of every meal—it's one of the most fun things about brunch," she says. "It's a great way to bring people together."

The next time brunch hosting duties are on your plate, Jones suggests washing down the bacon and eggs with this sparkling wake-up creation: A perfectly light (even with tequila) pairing for a majorly heavy meal, with a low ABV for maximum morning enjoyment. "Tequila gets a bad rap," she says. "I'm all about making people fall in love with tequila." —AS

Spring Fling
Ingredients
2 oz fresh-pressed grapefruit juice
¼ oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
¾ oz Cazadores Reposado Tequila
3 oz Martini sparkling wine
2 oz soda water

Directions
No tools, so it’s easily made at home! In a large wine glass add all ingredients over ice and stir briefly. Garnish with three or four cucumber wheels in the glass.
