Mo Kenney says she’ll have a new album soon, “depending on how much writing I can get done.” Her process? “I usually sit down with my guitar and fiddle around for a few hours and see if I can come up with a chord progression I find interesting. That inspires me for a melody, and the lyrics usually come last.” The method clearly works, seeing as Kenney has been a longtime runner-up in this category to her mentor, Joel Plaskett.
