I don't get nails done often, but after 3 months at sea, wanted to do something girly to celebrate getting home. I went to the salon asking to have my nails painted in French Tips, and before I had a chance to say anything more, the guy grabbed a nail clipper and cut off all the length! I thought this was strange, but ok I'll just have short french nails.

Then, he pulls out acrylics! WTF I don't want fake nails! But thought ok, I'll give it a try. I asked what this would cost because I only wanted paint. Not any of that other junk, he said, oh no, same price, it's included in the price? Ok...

Anyhow, at the end of a very painful session that in no way shape or form resembled a manicure, no hand massage or niceness, when I got to the counter to pay, the owner tells me $51!!!! I said WHAT!? I only wanted paint, what would that have cost? He laughed and said only $10! When I complained that I only came for paint and was told that what I received was not what I asked for AND I was told the same price... the guy just laughed and said, "oh well you know these guys, they always up-sell" WTF there was no up-sell, he just went ahead and started doing the opposite of what I asked for!

Now I discover I've been robbed of $40, and if I make a complaint to the BBB they will give the owner my personal information. I live in Clayton Park, the last place you want any scammer to know your address... Argh. —I Hate Fake Nails
