After having been divorced for 5 years and paying my child support every month and never missing a payment I retired from my $56,000.00/year job. Took a pension of $1,250.00/month after she took half of it. Now my net pay is $1,010.00/month.

But, maintenance enforcement still wants me to pay $940.00/month like I was still earning what I was when I was working. Told them what my new income is, provided them with written proof from my pension provider and they still want $940.00/month.

Now they are garnisheeing my pension for $940.00/month!!!

Called and asked for consideration and they sent me out a 16 page questionaire and want my tax returns for 2006, 07 & 08 to prove my ability to pay!!!

How are those tax returns going to prove my ability to pay in 2010 and when I asked why they said because that is what we want. And they have the legal right to ask for whatever information they want.

Asked them how I am going to pay my rent and eat and they said to bad so sad nothing they are willing to do, IF I want it reduced I will have to get in line at family court and wait for a date there. And I do not live in the best part of town--in a part of Dartmouth(the hood or slums as i call it) in a scuzzy little bachelor. Couldn't afford to buy my kids a Christmas gift or buy food so they could come for dinner!!

Sent numerous E Mails to two different ministers(one of them couldn't even find the time to respond or acknowledge my E Mails) and my MLA and that was a grand waste of time, they are all proving to be useless. Figure it must be because I am a male, wonder what would have happend if it was the opposite sex complaining. There is absolutely no place to complain about their lack of humanity at all. No repurcission to their actions so they do not care what it does to the person they want to pay money. It could kill the person and they would still say court order--go to court to change and no consideration at all. I have no problem paying child support.

My question is how can the government make legislation to give a government department the power to force a law abiding tax paying citizen to live on the street and go hungry??

And no place to complain to have it changed in a timely manner??

I have come to believe that they have a bunch of bitter man hating females working at maintenance enforcement, the one time i was in that office even the front clerk was snotty

I have come to understand why so many men now work under the table for cash.
