Tower #2 of the three towers has had cockroaches since we moved here in September. When we moved in we specifically stated our concerns over past issues of bed bugs. One week later we noticed roaches crawlin’ out of the sinks and in the laundry room downstairs. Please, do not give them any of your hard earned money.
At $840, with prices rising in September 2010, this place is a glorified dump! They’re growing bigger everyday so PASS IT ON! —Does Not Want Joe’s Apartment

  1. I still can’t figure out why people continue to rent apartments in those dumps. Sebastard’s right — shouldn’t everyone KNOW not to live there? I can see people new to the city, but you claim prior knowledge of its crappiness. You mention you voiced concerns over bed bugs? Do you really think those slimeballs at transgofuckyourself are going to cop to being infested with bugs? Don’t think so.

I feel for you, OP, but you went in with your eyes wide open…or wide shut. One or the other. In any event, your predicament is pretty much your own making.

  2. Believe me, I have never lived there, but those towers have been infested with bed bugs, roaches and mice for many many many years. I do not foresee the problem ever going away with the way it is dealt with.. What needs to happen is to have all 3 towers emptied and have the towers completely fumigated. It is pointless to do one apartment, as the little critters will scurry to the next apt..

  3. brunswick towers always has had problems. it was the people moving in that brought the critters. they don’t just automaticall find a place and move in. i had this problem years ago, but not there. nice place, but it was a swarming managerie of bugs and everything crawling you can think of. when i found another place, i had to destroy everything i had, even the clothes on my kids and my back. i even got rid of the car i had, just to make sure that NOTHING, came into the new place with us. it is disgusting to see them anytime of the day or night.

  4. melectric, i asked you to mail me about an apartment in the building i live in. it’s the best bang for your bucks, contact me for info hon. gary_more@hotmail.com. the rent is only 600 bucks for a nice 2 bedroom.and guy is real decent that owns it.

  5. hell, I may just mail ya too LS.
I know we don’t always get along, but 600 for a 2 bdrom is a pretty sweet deal.

  6. if you have lots of coin, the newly renovated apts. at windsor/almon are only $1100/month…gack

  7. Those towers have been shit holes since day one, I just can’t understand how people could think they’d be anything else?

  8. I think it’s because they were painted blue. LOL.
Those are the towers we are talking about right?

  9. Check out http://bedbugregistry.com
They have a list of reported addresses on hteir site from all over North America & Halifax now has 28 sites where people have let others know of their experiences…all 3 ‘Towers’ are there !

  10. My friend had an apartment on the bottom floor of the middle tower during the 80s, we’d sit there on weekend nights listening to the sound of smashing bottles and other debris coming down from the above apartments, and in the morning you could go out and count the used rubbers on the ground.

  11. My husband works as a painter and sometimes works there on vacant units. I insist he leave the painting bag outside on the deck when he gets home. I don’t want him bringing bedbugs or cockroaches into my house. They fumigate a few units at a time, problem is they live in the walls of the building, they just move around.

  12. @pretty kitty

I know, I know.. I wasn’t from Halifax and it was the easiest place to find on short notice. I can’t believe I fell for it.
I’m not denying my own blindness but I guess you just expect a bit of decency from people.

Really though, please pass this along to your friends

    AND @ Baby Girl
You’re right! Are we the only people that understand laying down bait in a single apartment doesn’t do anything? Why they even try that is beyond me.
I know these aren’t the most intelligent people in the world but it doesn’t take a genius to realize that the source of the problem ISN’T in our apartment, that when they bait our place they’re just DRAWING roaches from other people’s place up into ours

    SO SICK OF THIS

  13. Perhaps this info might not surprise some people, but I’ve observed it on my mobile job. This company seems to be selling off a lot of its properties all over town, including in Sprytown, Highfield, Fairview, and beyond. Back in October, I got to see a large complex (a whole city block on Walkley) in Ottawa owned by the same people. It too was in pretty shitty shape and it recently was sold to another company.

  14. I lived in Ocean Towers too and had bed bugs.. lost all of our belongings (beds, furniture, etc).. Plus many sleepless nights. For months after moving out I still slept with the light on and thought I could feel things crawling on me.
The towers should be burned to the ground and Transglobe should be sent to prison.

  15. bitchinlocal: you sounded like a local, that’s why I said what I said. I take it all back, seeing as you were a newbie to the area. I know a few people who’ve gotten sucked in around here when they first moved here and didn’t know anyone or anything about the area.

  16. I had to find a place on short notice because of a bad situation with my father at home. Naively I chose OT because it was a 5 minute walk to work and far cheaper than any other place near by. I’ve been living in tower 1 for over a year and haven’t had any problems with insects.. other people I know living here also haven’t had any bedbugs in the first tower. I do know a few people that have had problems in the other two. Not every apartment in there gets the vermin but I’m sure alot of them do.

The management has been changed from Transglobe to City Group recently and they’ve been actually doing alot of repairs and cleaning up the mess left behind by those cocksuckers at Transglobe.

  17. I used to live in those towers back in 2006-2007.

I was in Tower 3 on the 11th floor. Never had cockroaches or bed bugs but the sound carries through the walls too much as the walls are thin and cheap. Also their was never enough heat in the winter.

I lasted 7 months of my one year lease and took advantage of an ‘out’ to break my lease. Would never go back there or any other Transglobe property again.

LEASEE BEWARE. NEVER SIGN ANYTHING WITH TRANSGLOBE EVER….
