Okay this is really bugging me: why do people wait until AFTER you can see them to turn off their high-beams??

Coming around a corner, up a hill, whatever, I can see you have high beams on and yet you wait until we can see each others lights before you turn yours off??

WTF?

Turn them off BEFORE or you might as well not turn them off at all because you’ve already blinded me at that point, douche. —Mes yeux, ils font mal 🙁

  1. How can you expect drivers around here to use the high beam right when they don’t even know how to use the turn signals?

  2. What about those glaring blue/white lights on cars……they blind everything in view of them.

  3. Ze goggles – zey do nossing!

    Fully agree with this bitch.
Two more: 1) just because we’re on a divided highway or it has a concrete barricade (Bi-Hi) does not mean you can keep your high beams on.
    2) If you can see my tail lights – don’t turn on your high beams behind me.

  4. Agree with this bitch! I hate driving at night because it really bothers my eyes. But I’ll do it anyway. Depressing update: on the way home this morning at 530am, I realized that the days are already getting shorter – sigh. Thus the need for headlights in the morning again. 🙁

  5. There is no provincial legislation in nova scotia limiting the total amount of light (lumens) emitted from the front of your vehichle. As Long as it is predominantly white in color and meets the aim requirements it is perfectly legal to use a pair of 14 million lumen searchlights.

Blame Canadian Tire. Blame Sylvania. Think of the commercial. Note how there is never any oncoming traffic in the commercial.

For some years now it has been a war of escalation in headlights. The more money you have, the better you’ll see. (The more people you will blind) Blinding the “opponent” is one sure way to gain the upper hand … er right of way.

There are limits in Ontario, but not in NS. I’m sure if there were limits introduced they would be as selectively enforced as the noise bylaws. (“performance” mufflers and modified motorcycles). Only certain people have to pay the fine and obey the law, I’m just not quite sure what the selection criteria is. I suppose… the more random reasons to stop you and shake you down the better…

Fuck it, just quit driving man. it is a tool to exploit and enslave you. It is funny how people do not see that.

  6. oh! ok
    duh, it’s that easy…. just don’t drive!
wow, thanks for clearing that up.

Don’t brush your teeth or bathe either… that’s just what ‘the man’ wants too….
    clean, well traveled slaves.

  7. Bahaha… yep. We’re all slaves, toiling along happily, making money, raising families, enjoying vacations and pass times, hopefully finding love and experiencing new things… I’d rather be my slaving self then a bitter conspiracy theorist living in a dump and never getting laid, oldhand.

  8. Really eh, ralmn. I love alternative and conspiracy theories also but I don’t let the boogieman scare me into submission nor believe the world is out to get me. I can respect that some “conspiracies” do have an air of truth to them but I don’t change my lifestyle to accomodate them (ie: I got my H1N1 shots).

Be careful before oldhand goes off on you like a crazy Zion lobbyist like he/she tried doing with me a couple weeks back. But then again it’ll make for some hilarious postings on here =D

  9. my roof is lined with tinfoil, so the rays can’t get through^^^electric shock treatments…here i come

  10. Wish they had automatic high-beam light reducers. I’ve been blinded by high-beams, but have innocently forgot I’ve had mine on sometimes too. Don’t I feel like the big hypocrite when I yell at someone “hey, turn off your fucking high beams,” and then only five minutes later forget to turn mine off too.
