To all my fell drivers. There are, typically, two lanes on our highways and some roadways. If you are in the left lane on the highway, the expectation is that you will actually be passing, not hanging out watching the other cars whiz by. It is also expected if turning that you enter the lane closest to you and not cross all traffic and cut people off. MAYBE it is time to enforce driving lessons every 5 years so people learn to drive. God help these people if they ever drive in a bigger city or in Europe. They will be creamed! LEARN TO DRIVE FOLKS OR STAY THE FUCK HOME! —Dantrivett

The drivers described may be annoying to some but I find impatient, aggressive drivers far more of a problem and a danger on the highway. I’m talking about the kind who camp out in the passing lane driving over the speed limit. The kind that are always riding a few inches from someone’s bumper trying to bully them out of the way. They seem to think they have a divine right to get where they are going as quickly as possible … and what will they do at their destination that is important enough to merit this haste? Nothing!
These people force others to break the law and pass in the right lane because they don’t know how to drive or they are just idiots who do whatever the hell they want. We should have smart highways that cause you to explode if you are in the passing lane for more than 2 minutes with no cars in the right lane to pass. No that wouldn’t work, there would be too much debris all over our major highways impeding the safety of good drivers. Sigh, can’t win.
@sansdessein Sec 114(c) of the NS highway traffic act allows you to pass on either side when travelling in the same direction on a multi lane divided highway.
Um, Moonshine Rider, those people are not annoying, they’re downright dangerous, and are the cause of many accidents daily. Just because someone speeds and finds it annoying that some twat is doing 95 in the left lane doesn’t mean they’re bad drivers. Some are terrible drivers, but I’ll take a highway full of people that know the RULES of the road, driving aggressively, than one person that goes at/under the speed limit that doesn’t. Stay in the right lane and please, please don’t give anyone any advice on how to drive.
It seems that some people think that the posted speed limit is merely a “suggested” limit. On the long weekend I saw a number of drivers who had blown by me earlier on sitting at the side of the road and being given an “award” for their fine driving by the police.
The problem for a sane driver who drives at the speed limit is that when you come up to a slower vehicle and want to pass it there are often drivers who are camped out in the passing lane doing 120 to 130 and passing you …so you get boxed in. Now that’s dangerous. If everyone drove at the speed limit, or less, and only used the passing lane for brief periods of passing then traffic would flow much better.
Other safety guy, then why do they have signs posted on highways that say” keep right except to pass” if you can pass on the right? When you take your driver’s test if you did that I’m pretty sure they would fail you. Just sayin’.
I agree with sansdessedein, or whatever the fuck his name is……
@sansdessein You would have to ask the province that question; I simply quoted the NS Highway Traffic Act. Perhaps you should do some reading and familiarize yourself with the laws before you drive again or take your driver’s test before you fail. Just sayin’
You’re probably the type that hogs the passing lane like the rest of the idiots out there, right safety guy?
Oh that’s right, you’re the other safety guy. The one that does everything wrong and half- assed so that things are not safe and people in result get hurt.Yeah I know the type. Stay in the right lane except to pass, pretty self explanatory to me. What’s the matter can’t read? you go by colors? Not doing so is a violation of not doing what the sign says is it not? Just sayin’.
I’m convinced there is one major cause of the vast majority of accidents involving vehicles: drivers who are in a hurry. If drivers relaxed a little and weren’t in such a damn rush all the time the vast majority of accidents could be avoided and afr fewer pedestrians injured.
And keep in mind that the term “accident” may mean that it was unintentional but there is still always someone at fault – through inattention, unnecessary risk taking, excessive speed, …whatever…so take a deep breath and slow the frick down drivers. You aren’t that important!
