I stopped to turn in to a parking lot. Another vehicle was coming out. You were sufficiently annoyed that you had to blow your horn, pull up beside me and COMPLETELY lose your shit! Really? Threats of physical violence, screaming and swearing, you two are the embodiment of the red neck stereotype. A witness suggested that your extreme over reaction was a reflection of what a bad day/life you were having. I suspect you’re just a couple of middle aged, entitled, arseholes. Hope your day got better after you vented your road rage! —BVW

Tell me about it. Two days ago I was crossing dutch village road, at the cross walk close to the Frenchy’s. I stopped, looked both ways, the car on the opposite side of the street stopped, I made eye contact and started to cross. Then buddy in his big truck on my side of the street starts yelling out his window at me. “Hey, look where you’re going! I almost hit you! I was coming around the corner there and you had your head down! Pay closer attention!” No asshole, you pay closer attention. I didn’t say anything because I just wanted to go home and this guy looked/talked like he was on the roids. I saw his truck and maybe I should have waited for him to stop before crossing but he was a good 15-20 meters away. If you wait for every car to stop for you while trying to cross dutch village road in the A.M. you’re going to have a bad time and be standing there like an idiot for 10 mintues.
Try riding a bike…
That’s when I’d haul out my cell phone and start snapping photos. Fuck that shit – I’m getting it on record. As it is, I drive with a dash cam at all times. Some of the stuff I’ve caught on video would turn your armpit hair white.
Used to walk to and from work, about 7 km each way. What I saw going on with cyclists and motorists pretty much guarantees that I will never ride a bike here.
I don’t know what it is but when some (not all) people get behind the wheel of those big trucks they seem to think they are driving tanks and everything and everyone should get out of their way. 9 times out of 10 when I hear an impatient driver blowing his horn or there’s a driver six inches from my bumper on the highway it’s a dude in a big truck. Maybe they are overdosing on Timmie’s coffee!?
Oh my lord, were they turning left or right?
