To the person who tied up their beautiful blue eyed collie looking dog up outside the Quinpool grocery store on Tuesday evening, your dog attacked me and left a minor wound on my leg. I was walking by your dog and was not provoking it. Your dog gave no warning (no growling, no teeth baring, etc) that prepared me for their attack, which is pretty common with dogs who need space. I urge you to look into the Yellow Ribbon Project – which warns others about dogs that need space, are not okay with attention and who should be avoided by people whoa re unfamiliar. Also use your common sense, please don’t tie up a dog that has issues with being left alone or is scared or violent, in front of a public place. If I were a child or someone with mobility issues, your dog could’ve really injured me. Please take into consideration your dog’s well being and the well being of others who may come into contact with your dog, more closely. —Dog Lover, not Dog Fighter

  1. Question: If it was tied up, why did you get within range? Was there no space to keep out of the doggie danger zone?

(Admittedly, I’m not a dog fan.)

  2. Did you wait for the person to come out to confront them or tell them what happend or did you just do an Oh Well, did anyone else witness this. You made some good points by the owner needs to know.

  3. A trip into the grocery store to get the owner paged and explain to he/she what the dog just did, was called for. There’s a possibility that the owner doesn’t know the dog reacts to people by itself because no one has told them.

  4. If possible, waiting for the owner to let them know their dog bit a stranger would be good. Maybe they don’t know the dog does this. Sorry you got bit.

  5. A startled dog will try to protect itself. Im sure OP didnt intend to scare it but animals can be jumpy for a number of reasons.

  6. i worry about the dog’s safety when they are tied outside. unless i know the dog, i give it a wide berth and speak dog

  7. i put it to the owners this way. how would you like me, to do it to you, and then not give a fuck about the weather conditions that you are out in. i think courts should go that route, when they convict someone of animal cruelty. it would only take one or two to smarten the rest up.

  8. The dog DID injure you. WTF, OP, I would’ve waited, demanded vaccination records and reported the shithead. Your leg is probably the same height as a toddler’s face.

  9. Shultz, keep your damn unruly dog home if it can’t behave. A chip off the ol’ block I say. Dumb fuck
