I’m an exchange student from New Zealand and on my first night in Halifax I went to the supermarket to grab some dinner. As a tourist, I was excited by the lobsters and when I saw a giant helium lobster balloon I thought I must have it! The weight holding it down said $1.29 which I thought was an absolute bargain but at the check out it turned out that was just the price of the weight, the balloon was actually $10. The friendly shop assistant said she would put it back for me but came back a minute later and said the manager said it was a gift for me and welcomed me to Halifax. So a shout out to Joseph Howe Superstore for the best welcome ever! —Kiwi girl
