I don’t think it is necessary for this bitch to be mean spirited, but I feel it is worth saying… Why can’t we all agree to be friendlier drivers? I have lived in cities where drivers wave a ‘thank you’ anytime another driver allows them to merge. I think HRM drivers are awesome at merging onto the the bridges, yet we never recognize each other with a friendly wave. —I’m the Guy Waving at You…THANK YOU!

  1. ^^^ my panties are SO wet right now, zilla. lolz

Actually, OB, I find drivers are being a lot friendlier these days than pre-strike.

A could of weeks ago my mom got in the wrong lane on Bayers Rd. My dad rolled his window down, stuck his head out and asked the guy in the car in the other lane if she could sneak in. The guy let him. It was fucking priceless.

It’s almost like we’re all in this together (ppl in cars) and aside from taxis who are rude regardless, everyone is working together as a team as far as I’ve seen. 🙂

  2. i agree with you OB! I came from a city that did exactly that. Not saying HRM is full with bad drivers since this is a common reoccurring thing to happen everywhere with cars, but I find myself being more polite and I definitely wave to other drivers for also being polite on the roads. I just also don’t understand why it cannot be reciprocated.

  3. I have to disagree with you ‘zilla, but only because I’m a little nervous that you might be serious about the second option of #3 on your list.

  4. If I wave an acknowledgment and it isn’t reciprocated, I just assume I cut them off and give them the finger. It makes me smile. I’m the only person on the raid that knows how to drive anyway!!! Bahahahahahah!!!!

  5. How the hell can you wave ?!?!?!?!?!?
I got one hand on the steering wheel & one hand holding my coffee & waving the coffee around is a sure way to make a damn mess.

SO lets just pretend we’re all waving & NOT fuckin’ bother !

    mmmmm good coffee .

  6. i always do the wave when i’m driving the folks around. if i don’t get an acknowledgement from another driver, they get all huffy…too funny. flashing your lights is a signal to go ahead too, but i don’t see many people doing that. omg, maybe that’s an *upper canadian thing* such assholes^^

  7. No Great value, one hand holds the steering wheel, the other hand holds the coffee.
If my dick was a couple inches longer , I’d wrap that around the wheel & then have a free hand to wave with… probably need a blood transfusion to get a hard on, but that’s a sacrifice I’d be willing to make for being able to become a porn star ~;p

  8. You do the wave in traffic paingirl? I’ve tried that, you know, jumping up with your arms in the air like at the sporting events. No one ever seems to follow my lead. It helps to be in a convertible though. People in buses could pull it off quite nicely.

  9. Ever since I linked this site to Facebook, my avatar here defaults to the one I have on Facebook. Now my Facebook avatar is an animal of the week as well so I can hide my true identity here.
This critter is that montreme beloved by all, the platypus. It’s a mammal that lays eggs, has a bill like a duck, body like an otter and poisonous spurs on it’s hind legs. Only in Australia you say.

  10. A throwback mammal to be sure pg. The montreme’s ancestors mingled with the dinosaurs, strictly platonic though.

  11. You do realize, Trood, that the pun IS the lowest form of humour. Which goes far toward explaining why I enjoy them so much.

  12. Cha. Soon as I got my license, my Uncle Geoff taught me how to drive with my knee (I drive a stick) ‘nother advantage to being tall. Handy for when I used to smoke. Waving of any kind is not a problem.

Tip: If you want to cut into traffic, roll down the window and do what I call the ‘waggily finger wave’ –that and a smile works every time. Why it works: You are thanking the person for being polite *before* they have the chance to deny you…it appeals to the better self they don’t know they have.

Also, does anyone listen to ‘car talk’? Tom and Ray suggested on air years ago that cars have an “I’m sorry” light built in. I believe this is now on cars in Australia.
