I would just like to thank the lovely bicycle cops for the following: throwing a 15-year-old kid to the ground and ripping his fingernail off. Calling my friend “a skater faggot.” Screaming at a 14-year-old and kicking his backpack and throwing his shoe.

and where were all the recordings? skateboarders tend to have cameras to get all their ‘mad tricks’ recorded… and even if not, I’m betting they had phones that were used….

I’ve only lived in Halifax about 3 years and I’ve witnessed more than a few incidents of cops abusing their authority, picking fights, causing a disturbance and escalating small arguments into potential violence. Most cops I’ve met are nice, BUT there’s more than a couple psychopaths that need to be weeded out.

and how much attitude did this”skater”, put out, before this unfolded. was it because the were told to get a helmet, if so, big fucking deal. you dumb cunts need a little reminding of who the law is, every so often. if i was said cop, you mouthed off to me, then you would enjoy a pepper sandwich, my fist and the spray. i have no love for almost brain dead fucking fools on boards, with no helmets or other gear, to keep them safe. maybe the fine should be 5,000 bucks,first time. make you think twice next trip.

^^^You are the reason that I hate this message board and will not be wasting any more time here. A lot of you guys seem decent but this guy should be the mascot for ignorant backwards thinking self righteous pricks. That’s why I know at least 10 guys that skate every day that are getting Bachelors Degree’s this year, must be because they are “Braindead”.

I know the kid that got thrown to the ground, there were about 10 people there skating at the commons and they saw bike cops in the distance so they all split up and ran from the park, the bike cop chased him down and slammed him to the ground hard enough to rip his fingernail off.
Another great one was a few years my friend was skating down the street trying to catch a bus and noticed an officer riding a bike past him say something, he didn’t have time to stop so he said “Gotta catch the bus!” and kept going, next thing he knows he’s getting tackled to the ground by the cop who dove off his bicycle. “You could’ve had drugs”
I find it really troubling the amount of skepticism from people here, I’ve met alot of really nice understanding officers who recognize this helmet rule for what it is (completely unnecessary). But there is a good 20% of officers who take it real seriously, mostly the ones that are 19-23 years old and love shitting on people’s days.
