Just voted in the advance poll at a nursing home in the South End riding. There was an unbelievable 45 minute wait just to be registered. Facilities completely inadequate for amount of people trying to vote. If anything turns away young people from voting it will be a 45 minute wait! Seems almost intentional to me… —South End Voter

  1. It seems all the advance polls were busy. I voted at Ellenvale Jr High and the returning Officer there said it was much busier than expected. The process was quick in and out in about 10-15 minutes. The only wait was the 6-7 people ahead of me.

  2. Get over yourself. Try voting in downtown Kabul. OK, not that I have, but you get the idea. Turn-out to the early voting stations is strong across the country. Maybe, this time, something close to a majority of Canadians will vote. OK, there I wander into Imaginationland again, lol.

  3. It seems to be busy everywhere. I wonder if that’s a sign that more people are engaged this time around? I know my uncle was saying it took him an hr – in small town NB, that’s a record!

  4. Sooooo~ you wanted to cast your ballot early yet went at perhaps one of the busiest times of the day ~ consider this your own fault. Dragging your oh-so-busy-arse out earlier and you would have been there and back home before the other lazy mo’-fo’s waddled in and caused the long queue that lasted all of 45 minutes.

  5. if you have your card and shit, it normally goes fairly quick. but sometimes, you can get a long line. moreso, if you are out of town, and decide to vote in that area. it throws them out of whack. but i’m glad you exorcised your right to a free vote. and maybe this time out, a good government to help haul this poor country out of the hell it has sank into.

  6. It’s because people want to vote, plain and simple – and more than voted last time at advanced polls. Suck it up.

  7. Is it really such a bad thing for their to be a tonne of people wanting to vote? Perhaps, if Canadians ROUTINELY showed up to the polls, Elections Canada would be better prepared to deal with the crowds voicing their opinion this election. Just sayin . . . Get out and vote!

  8. What do you expect…..it’s a nursing home. Old people are afraid of organization and speedy processes. They have to slow the whole voting process down so they don’t frighten the old people and send them into seizures. Hell they all voted for Harper anyhow because they like his hair.
