Can we get back to making developers build tunnels out of scaffolding rather than letting them take away the sidewalk in front of their projects for what seems like years?
The new condos on Gottingen have had the front virtually finished for months. There can’t be more than a day’s work left on it, but they still have the sidewalk blocked off. This is common for all new projects built near busy pedestrian areas. There seems to have been no contingency plan for pedestrian traffic or for the duration it would be disrupted. Such things should be conditional for any development approval: Clear the sidewalk (and all other public thoroughfares) asap, or face fines. There should be an incentive to get this part done, if for no other reason than just being a good citizen and neighbour. —Walk Around

Same issue exists on Almon street and that project is not even close to finished
How many swarmers have to be struck and injured or even killed by cars before this city wakes up? For shame, for shame.
lol ^^
but o.p., that would involve work and using the funny thing, common sense.
And exactly what do you think would happen if a few hundred pounds of equipment would do when it hits the scaffolding from 50 ft or more? Scaffolding is designed to take a man’s static weight not being plowed into.
would make would english
It’s all a conspiracy, OB.
OP, those developers are doing you a favor from preventing you walking down Gottingen. Get too far and you get shot if you’re white.
it has the Menz bar… huh… huh? no…?
I’m inclined to ignore any attempt to close it off and just saunter on through as though it doesn’t exist. If any workers challenge me on it, I can then say,”Well, get the work done faster, please.”
