Does anyone else think the Q104 ad. on tv is an INSULT to obese people everywhere? It is supposed to be fun I guess…..hurtful….wonder if the guy that did the ad. has any self-esteem??? A buck is a buck….I guess

I actually threw up a little when they played it. I felt bad for the guy. Maybe he will be the next radio-spokesperson for LA Weightloss… hey show me your LA!
Just goes to show how low radio has fallen since the advent of satellite radio. I never, ever, listened to Q104 before satellite but when I had the misfortune of listening it was very sad. Do people really listen to q104 and c100 anymore? Have they ever? I mean, really.
the thing is that if an obese person gets up yo dance at a bar or other establisment….people will make fun of them….and it’s okay…this might be one of the last politically incorrect, insentive things that’s still “acceptable” in our society…this is wrong
I just cringe when I see that ad.. disgusting really. It’s a wonder to me how it’s still on.
I don’t find it offensive. How come it is offensive? People are fat, fat people like music too. Fat people like to dance. Where is the offence? Are you saying that fat people are not to be seen? That seems to be offensive to me…()_:)
it is poking fun at them….making them objects of derision (not sure if that the right word)…making them something to laugh at
Same as if they show women as big titted bimbos who have a fear for fabric thicker than dental floss. Or average white guys so stupid that they can’t open a jar of mayonaise without it crashing to the ground and needing “Jar opener 3002” (patent pending). Or black people who need a GED. Or latinos who can strive to become a medical assistant. All of them if you really want to be anal could be nitpicked and found offensive. I laughed at the commercial and thought it was cool. You couldn’t TELL that guy that he wasn’t the shit. That’s confidence, the same like when I see a fat chick in the club wearing high heals and commanding the dance floor. Where’s the difference. I actually know a guy who WOULD act like that. Stupid, yes, embarassing, only in public, offensive, not in the slightest.
I laugh my arse off EVERY time I see this ad ….GO Q104, it’s about time they got rid of the stick figure ad campaign that bored people to tears!!It is poking fun and it is funny, I would totally jam with this dude if I saw him at a local pub/bar!!

Its not offensive… its just fucking stupid… What I always try to imagine when I see a really lame commercial like this one, is a bunch of advertising execs sitting around the screening room with the client, saying “we think you’ll really like this… It really reaches out perfectly to your demographic…” And the client watches the ad and goes “yeah we like it…”
Yeah I’m with Floyd. I think it demonstrates the Q104 demographic perfectly. It’s also repulsive, but whatever. So is the music on that station.
well look at how many of you know about the commercial, that is probably the point, it may disgust you but you still think of q104 ….i like the commercial personally and I am an overweight female (not by much but i’m still up there) I don’t find anything offensive to obese people about it and as for self esteem I wish I could dance around half naked and not care what people think ….you guys should look at it that way …that guy could be hiding in his house feeling bad about himself but instead hes right out there shakin it
yes that is another way of looking at it
I hope that flabby, fat pig is sterile and never reproduces. Fuck, he’s gross.
C’mon Floyd, own up. The fat guy turns you on.
dear god.. it was just on, and I turned channel just as quick.. actually much like how i treat the station while driving.. I get the same feeling as I change the station on the radio, repulsed.. embarassed.. perhaps they were trying to connect both.. if that was the goal. They did well. Yes.. kudos to Q104. I will continue to pass by your channel as I do that terrible ad. I wonder if Q104 in Ontario has the same ad running?
It’s hard in Halifax tofind a good radio station that plays good music all the time, so I guess the same applies with running good ads all the time…NEVER gonna happen, but one thing those ad exec’s figured out was how to invoke reaction one way or another and it’s got people talking about the Q
