I attended two pre-launch events this week for Burger Bash 2026, including an influencer-focused gathering at Harbourstone in Halifax on Monday and an industry event at Battery Park in Dartmouth the following day. Both events ran from 2 to 4 p.m. and offered an early look at this year’s lineup.
Organized by The Coast in partnership with Garrison Brewing, Burger Bash 2026 is a citywide fundraiser in support of Feed Nova Scotia. Over the past 13 years, the event has raised $993,821, making it the organization’s largest fundraiser outside of its own initiatives.

At the Harbourstone event, live music played in the background as attendees moved through the space, sampling food and drinks. Guests were served a fried chicken burger on a pink bun, paired with thin, crisp fries. The burger featured a breaded chicken fillet with lettuce and a soft bun.
A claw machine, sponsored by Garrison Brewing, offered branded merchandise, including hats and T-shirts, while both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages were available. The event also provided opportunities to connect with Halifax-based influencers working in food and lifestyle media.
The second event at Battery Park had a more industry-focused atmosphere, with attendees including organizers and representatives from Feed Nova Scotia.

The featured item was a smashed beef burger topped with fontina cheese, sauteed mushrooms and crunchy potato sticks. It was served alongside a mango-dragonfruit beer, described as light and refreshing.

According to Feed Nova Scotia, every $2 raised allows the organization to distribute the equivalent of three meals through donated food. Funds also support advocacy efforts aimed at addressing food insecurity through long-term, policy-based solutions.
The need remains significant, with one in three Nova Scotian households experiencing food insecurity.

Burger Bash encourages residents to visit participating restaurants across the city, with proceeds from select menu items supporting the initiative. Organizers say the event continues to highlight how community participation can contribute to addressing food insecurity in the province.
