So I am sooo proud of myself with your new eco conscious publicity. I love showing off how cool I am as part of the gullible neo-eco-lytes walking into what I thought was the real eco-conscious store. I walked in and right away I see nothing but plastic everywhere. Then I am confronted by your pop dispensor that tempts my children to those rust remove in coloured water sealed in plastic bottles. I fill my grocery cart with junk food and irritants that are supposed to be toxic to my house. I am truly so proud of you . You really make me feel like a natural woman,
as Aretha Franklin and Carole King once sang.
So, when are you truly going to be ecology conscious? I look forward to the removal of all those junk food and pop drinks and anything in plastic. Not sure how this is all going to work out for you, as right by your entrance, your finance dept is trying to sell me on getting one of those plastic credit card you have.
Hmm? I feel so silly I actually fell for your hype.

those are choices that stuperstore cannot dictate. they cannot control what material suppliers choose to package their products in. as far as removing the junk food and pop from the shelves, not likely to happen due to sheer economics.
speaking of economics…in my opinion the whole five cent a bag thing, while on the surface is eco-driven, is nothing more than the creation of another revenue stream.
BTW, plastic bottles of water exist for one reason, people buy them.
So neo-eco-nazis aren’t happy that superstore has made a risky move in levying a $0.05/bag charge? The fact that this poster was even shopping shows just how little they are willing to do for the environment.
What a terrible example you are setting your children “food comes from this big building full of shelves”
How about you neo-eco-hypocrits just shut your mouths when you are talking to me.
I must go water my plastic tree.
Just because a store bans plastic bags or charges a fee for them doesn’t make them “eco conscious”, especially when the reusable bags they supply are made in and shipped from China. Just saying.
The store dictates which suppliers of product they’ll use. I’m with the OP on this one. If they were being enviro-conscious they would not purchase products with offending packaging to put on their shelves. Indeed the $.05/bag is a markup unlike any other legal scheme in history… bastards.
Hippy.
OP, be happy you’ve done your part. You have:
A: not bought the stuff you do not want to see at the store (except ‘junk food and irritants’?)
B: complained (however incoherently)
What more can you do?
grocery stores make their customers pay for plastic bags to CUT COSTS. This certain store that is “super” can claim they’re being eco conscious all they want, but the fact *is* they don’t have to put money out for packing materials (plastic bags) because you’re either not using them OR if you are you’re paying.
Their PR department did quite the job trying to convince the customer otherwise. Fact is, it’s all about the bottom line.
OP If you want envrio friendly stores then do your part and look at local markets instead of large stores. Local Source on charles st or farmers market are more package friendly. go to walmart and get one of those h2o steam mops instead of “irritants that are supposed to be toxic to my house”. you fell for it all and are now complaining about it. next time get them where it hurts by keeping your money out of their pockets.
Fuck, I am sick and tired of this green shit
Green shit? You got the swine flu, Jane? 😛
I feel like asking for 20 bags next time I’m in. they’re uber strong now and 20 for a buck is cheaper than actual garbage bags. way to go super sto’
Haha no!
I am sick and tired of this eco-friendly business.
