Yesterday some bitch freaked out at a squeegee kid for yelling at his dog after it broke its leash and ran out into the road. The women threatened to call the SPCA and have his dog taken away (he didn’t lay a finger on his dog). At least these dogs aren’t locked in a stuffy house all day while their owners are at work. There is nothing like the loyalty and companionship that owning a dog gives, and these street kids deserve some love in their lives. To all who judge and don’t mind their own business, educate yourself on how these dogs really live before making someone else’s life harder.

I agree. I’m sure homeless people love their dogs and all, but I can’t help but feel really bad when I see the dogs outside in the rain/snow with no shelter. They look so sad and hungry. If you are homeless, you obviously don’t have the money to take good care of a dog…unless of course you find a homeless dog on the street. Some people who have the resources, neglect their animals too. PETS ARE LONG TERM INVESTMENTS!
Nice generalisations, folks. Because you’re homeless, you can’t/won’t take care of pets? You don’t DESERVE pets if you have no permanent address? When the rest of the world thinks you’re scum, your pet is your best friend. And FWIW, I’ve known a couple who lived on the Commons for about 7 months, from March through October, with their TWO dogs. The dogs were ALWAYS fed, ALWAYS clean, ALWAYS cared for, and ALWAYS received regular veterinary care. Their people did without to make sure that the dogs were well kept. That’s a lot more than I can say for some ‘regular folk’ who live in real houses with real addresses.
Those who would deny the right of a homeless person to have a pet probably think poor people shouldn’t have kids. Children are expensive and they deserve comfy middle class homes and poor people have no right to be parents, right?, same way these posters think a person who is on the street doesn’t deserve a pet as a companion. This goddamned world is getting meaner by the day.
That’s right, fuck the homeless, he’s probably fattening up the dog to eat later on. If the bum is cleaning a windshield, or standing on the median with their insipid signs then they don’t deserve a ‘pet’. They are basically raising a wild animal. Either that, or they arn’t as poor off as you think. Shit, I work every fucking day and I know I don’t have it in me to take care of no dumb animal that would shit on my rugs and piss under my television stand shorting out the power bar and setting my place on fire… mmmm, barbeque poochie… *cough*The solution is simple, if they have enough money to keep a healthy dog, then they are parasites looking for a free fucking ride and thus must be ran over. Either that or wait for them to clean your window and you give them a beer can to recycle (hey, you give them ‘money’ and you did your recycling to boot, everyone wins). I half wish one of those dogs get struck by oncoming traffic, then they won’t need the SPCA because the dog is now roadkill!
When people are forced to leave abusive homes, often the pets have suffered as well. You should thank them for loving their pets enough to bring them with them.
Sometimes the dogs find them, not the other way around. Dogs can be homeless too. I’ve always found the squeegee kids nothing but courteous.
I agree, homeless people shouldn’t have children.They shouldn’t have pets either.They should be thankful that they are alive and sell their body to science so that we don’t hurt those poor pigs and baboons…
