This goes out to the parents who attend school concerts or other public events and let them run all over the place and rudely disrupt others. Parent your kids! Model and instruct how to sit patiently, listen attentively, and show appreciation for the efforts of those who organize such things.

  1. Unfortunately many parents think the TV teaches their kids all ‘that stuff”, they also say that with either blank slack jawed expressions or with snarky ignorant and uninformed attitude.

  2. Here’s a situation – a friend of mine picks up his 5 year old daughter at her friend’s. The kid doesn’t want to get in the car so my friend gives her a quick (not hard) swat on the bottom to get her attention. Well, guess what? A nosey neighhour took down my friend’s license plate number and the cops were on his doorstep that evening, wanting to question his daughter alone about the ‘alleged incident’. What a nice waste of taxpayer’s money, huh? Is it any fucking wonder kids are running wild? You can’t touch the little bastards and they know it from a very early age. I’m not saying kids should be beaten senseless but a swat on the bottom used to keep many a kid in line. Now we have these little monsters and parents who appease, not discipline.

  3. Exactly Elbee…too true! Now we have 15 year old double murderers etc. Anyone who doesn’t think a little spank is perfectly normal and ok is contributing to the rapid and shocking decline of today’s youth. I simply cannot understand how people can think spanking is wrong…sure beating your kids is not ok but come on really people spanking is not beating!!

  4. The whole point of spanking is to get their attention, not to injure. Too many parents want to be their kid’s buddy – well, guess what – kids don’t need a parent as a ‘friend’, they need parameters. Too many parents overcompensate with expensive gadgets because they don’t want to spend time with the horrors they’ve brought into the world. When my kid told me that the kids in our neighbourhood junior high were doing crack and meth, I can’t say I was surprised, judging from some of the parents I’ve met who put their own selfish needs before those of their spawn. Like one kid I knew – parents were divorced and couldn’t be adult enough to try to be civil – when each of the parents brought a new partner in the equation, this poor kid felt totally rootless since the newbies resented her because she was a reminder of the parent’s previous union. I’d like to take parents like that and kick their collective arses raw.
