I don’t get upset when you motor vehicle drivers don’t check over your shoulder an open the door nearly knocking me off my bike. Nor do I get upset about you pinching me off the road. But for fuck sakes don’t yell at me for trying to turn left.
Yes I ride on the right but when I move to the center line so I can turn left don’t fucking yell at me “You are suppose to ride on the right.” I know you are upset you have slow down for a moment or two out of you very business schedule; but you wouldn’t yell at another care for doing it. So don’t yell at me because I’m turning LEFT. <— That way. Unless I want you to hit me I’m taking the center line and turning left. Learn it. —Learn it

I’ve had cars switch into the oncoming lane to pass me while I’m trying to make a left hand turn.
And they look at me like I’m doing something wrong!
i noticed the cabs in toronto, have watch for cyclists stickers on their windows. less door prizes that way, tho no one seems to wear helmets
maybe you didn’t do a shoulder check and cut somebody off? If not yeah you’re right op. You gotta merge left to turn left. I have no problem with that. Just do your shoulder check beforehand. For your own safety. I’m sure you do. Just a friendly reminder.
people must have neck issues in halifax, they don’t seem to be able to swivel their heads
Some car drivers don’t consider bikes a real vehicle so any slight inconvenience experienced by the wheels of a cyclist prompts rage.
Many of the city streets have parking areas on the right-hand side, leaving very little room for both cyclists and motorists. By “very little” I mean it is unlikely that a motorist can safely pass in the same lane with oncoming traffic and still satisfy the one meter legislation. Usually, for fear of a stupid motorist attempting to pass unsafely, I “take over” the lane. You should see the dirty looks I get.
You were probably on the sideWALK trying this move?
Why, just the other day I was turning left and doing a shoulder check while signalling. FYI, the shoulder check while signalling to turn left is an almost natural reaction to signalling left, I mean, your arm is already twisted out so its nothing to do a little sideways glance.
What does the car about 50m behind me do? Speed up and swing around me while I’m moving my bicycle towards the centre of the lane.
Nice.
I come across a gaggle of cyclists on Prospect Road all bunched together (not single file). I had to go on the opposite side of the road in order to get around them. Last time I beeped my horn at a bunch of cyclists, they just waved my around them still maintaing the clusterfuck pattern.
