  1. Typical govt-run “service” (not!). Customer service is a concept totally foreign to any govt agency.

  2. I started taking my forms to the actual student loan office in the trade mart centre (now brunswick place?) a couple years back and it’s AMAZING how fast things got processed after that.If the server is too busy (I got that last night when I tired to log on) you’re probably not the only one who’s having issues with the new system. Unless you go to a certain university on the bedford highway (who will send big men with baseball bats after you to break your legs if you don’t pay your tuition by their ridiculously short deadlines), you should be OK tuition wise (just go to financial services at you institution and explain your situation). As for books, maybe talk to your profs about putting a copy on reserve at the library for a few weeks, because like I said, you might not be the only one who’s hurting for cash for books because of this. You may even be able to find them IN the library either at your school or other schools (if you’re on the novanet system you can borrow from any other novanet library), either the edition you’re using or an old one. I really feel for you, OP. Dealing with student loans SUCKS. Good luck 🙂

  3. My fiancee was having the same problem with the same service provider. They ended up getting incorrect account information from the bank. It took her 2 months to get it corrected and she had to escalate to the office’s liaison to said service provider. At least during the old days when you were dealing woth an inept NSL rep it was just the NSL rep you had to deal with.

  5. It makes me uneasy how they state they have all my banking information, yet I never actually provided it to them…I know they probably got it from RBC or whomever, but still. I feel A LOT safer with the CSL process because at least then you know your info is correct every time you get a loan. The middle of my study period is in march I think, because I just started back now, and I’m really not looking forward to that shit.

  6. Pretty Kitty–RBC was who did it to her as well and it’s a breach of their Privacy Policy. Take a peek at their website. She’s in the process of making a formal complaint against it. You should as well.
