It is ridiculous that some of the sponsors have dropped out of summer rush because of Chris Brown!!! The man is nothing but talent!! Its not like he’s gonna be beatin bitches on stage!!! What do you think is gonna happen? Hes coming to perform for his fans! —just wanna see him dance
This article appears in Aug 8-14, 2013.

Ridiculous? The sponsers felt the wind shift and like any smart PR move, they turned the boat.
“beatin bitches onstage”
I guess we can just file that under “Rap is the Black CNN” too, I suppose.
Tell me, was he performing for his fans when he got this?
http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/…
Because you know, as well as I do, that so many of his pusse of followers, who just wanna see him dance honestly believe that he did nothing wrong. Or, they blame the media.
Right. Fox News were the ones who sent Rihanna to the ER.
Smoke as much crack as you want, do bath salts, pack a 9 in your baggy ass jeans with the safety off, ride your hoes bareback and go play on the train tracks, while you’re at it.
“Hes coming to perform for his fans!”
You and who else?
This bitch is sooooo last week.
Dance bitch, dance. Flail those limbs about.
I support Coyote Shivers, he don’t play like that. You know, beatin’ bitches onstage and shit.
I also don’t support ICP, but you wouldn’t know that from my avatar.
Didn’t that little shit skid coward just have a ‘seizure’? Yeah, yeah, ‘seizure’ – that’s the ticket.

actually op i agree with you.
The art and the artist are two separate things. Michael Jackson is no less a genius regardless of what he may or may not have done. Robert plant was a monster and didn’t jimmy page kidnap and hold a 14 year old girl hostage for about a year? Charles Dickens dumped his wife in the most humiliating and callous way imaginable. And let’s not forget what Bob Geldof did to the world by way of helping to produce the offense that is Peaches.
The art stands on its own. I’m no fan of chris brown but if you are, or were, his personal life doesn’t change what he has produced.
Uh huh… because people were blind to similar things in the past we should remain blind to them in the present? foolishness…
Maybe a decade or more ago artists, because of their fame and influence, they could get away with these things. Reality is people are waking up and this behavior cannot be expected to continue. These people are role models whether we choose them or not, simply because they are broadcast to us as successful role models. I wouldn’t be surprised if more and more artists started receiving harsh criticism because of how they portray women and crime and drugs and all types of nefarious behavior. They chose the limelight so they have to deal with being a much more obvious target for shit slinging.
I think we’re already noticing these trends with some celebrities actually receiving appropriate jail time/fines for offenses or drug use or whatever shit they pull
Soon people who’ve taken part in criminal activity will have trouble filling a room for any type of event. And isn’t that a good thing?
Nowadays if Charles Dickens/Robert Plant/Bob Geldof/Michael Jackson/Jimmy Page tried any of that shit the media coverage would hopefully expose the situation and the public would properly express their outrage and the artist would suffer appropriately.
“beatin bitches onstage”
So YOU’LL be beatin’ ’em?
i wonder how many tickets he could’ve sold, otherwise i don’t care
How dare those sponsors decide for themselves what corporate image they want to portray. I certainly don’t feel any sympathy for the dumb motherfucker!!!!
Actually, what’s ridiculous is that anyone supports this piece of shit! o_O
that’s so cute that you think robert plant and michael jackson weren’t “nowadays”. It’s even cuter how you lump them into a historical demographic with Charles Dickens.
You’re a lot younger than we thought.
So you’re telling me that you have absolutely no love for any historical figures at all because cultural mores determined that their BS famous person behaviour was granted carte blanche by the famous part?
You DO realize that modern celebrities behave heinously too, don’t you?
By your reasoning, Selena Gomez and Zooey Deschanel are the only celebrities worth enjoying since we haven’t caught them doing anything shitty yet.
Or, you know, because Oscar Schindler was a wife-beater and womanizer, fuck the jews he saved? It somehow doesn’t count? Or because it was “long long ago” fuck the women he hurt?
It’s one of the two.
If people don’t start to take a stand now then when is a good time? …….. when you are a public figure or artist your actions become public and put on a platform for people to judge you. Domestic abuse is a huge issue for some and people have every right to take sides.
you want to go to the concert fine ….. no one stops you…..but not everyone shares your view…….for some people the photo of Rihannas beaten face is something they will never forget or forgive.
That’s not what I’m saying at all, that’s what you’re saying Batshit
The last half of you post was the complete opposite of what I was saying. Geezus! Put a little effort in next time, bruh’
I never said you couldn’t enjoy it, I was pointing out that they aren’t the ideal role models and I think public preference is moving away from having people like Chris Brown as a standard of entertainment
“You DO realize that modern celebrities behave heinously too, don’t you?” Yeah thats what I said. And now they’re actually being appropriately punished for them… sometimes
Chris Brown is an egotistical unrepentant jerk and isn’t all that bright and that kind will eventually crash and burn. Think O.J. without the double homicide/kidnapping stuff. However, if people want to see him perform that’s their right and if he is legally cleared to perform let it be. That’s the thing about a free and lawful society, sometimes it sticks in your craw.
He probably won’t make it accross the border anyways, there was a case last year where an artist was booked to perform and even though he had all the paperwork they denied him entry, he was however able to get into the country via the west coast. Canada is hard to get into, especially via Nova Scotia, apparently.
My question is how long are people going to keep denigrating this guy? He was 18 and made a terrible decision, he’s done his community service, he’s made amends with his victim, he hasn’t kept his nose 100% clean but he hasn’t assaulted anybody since the incident, which was almost 5 years ago.
I’m not here to defend the guy, I don’t overly care for his music or him, I just think people need to move on. I don’t make excuses for his actions. Trashing this guy does nothing for victims of assault, domestic or otherwise. I don’t blame sponsors for pulling out though, people have lost corporate sponsorship for less.
And I mean, you’re telling me the members of Kiss didn’t treat women like crap? How about the Rolling Stones? No one protested them.
Lol@ ‘P R’ move.. hahah this is Halifax.. the “public relations” department of any business is a joke because this province and most of the people in it are insignificant fucks..not like we would ever affect his networth. This isn’t an episode of Sex and the City, “Scooter! Ahhhh!”.. It’s Halifax. Population : 3
Also, TJ902, The Rolling Stones are the most legendary Rock band alive and it’s because of them and other REAL artists (not Chris brown and all these other fools that don’t even write and most of the time really sing their own shit), that these artists even exist today…Don’t ever compare the stones to anyone these days.. they’re not even on the same PLANET, let alone the same level as these idiots these days that get paid to basically work out and show off their bodies. lol The stones have not stopped partying and putting on shows since the 60’s and they’ve earned the wrinkles on their faces which they STILL show to this day. People who fucked with them and got treated like shit knew who they were before they dated them.. same as Chris Browns ex knew he was a celebrity and a sex icon amongst todays stupid young generation. He was bound to talk to other women, she was bound to raise hell about it and in turn, he was bound to beat her up because that’s how these big-headed, oversized ego’d men these days handle their arguments.
Nuff said.
Wow. I stand corrected Coastreviewer.
/sarcasm off
I also wonder why people didn’t protest George Jones all the times he came here (when old No Show did actually show), to add to the list.
Coastreviewer you have confirmed my suspicions. People like you don’t give a crap about Rihanna or anyone else he may have beaten, because if they did they’d have had a problem with it when artists THEY like who also have done bad things came to town. It’s because he’s young and black and this older population doesn’t like his music, or rather they assume they wouldn’t if they ever actually listened to it.
I wasn’t comparing Chris Brown to the Rolling Stones in terms of their artistery, spare me the lecture. All I’m saying is that people like you are hypocrites. Jagger and Richards have proabably degraded more women than Chris Brown will ever meet, not to mention hired Hells Angels to do their security, resulting in the beating DEATH of a man. So you’re sayin if the music is “good” enough, in your opinion it’s ok for them to come perform here? If that’s the case stfu and let the fans enjoy their Chris Brown concert. People aren’t protesting him because he’s not as good as the Rolling Stones, or because of anything music related. They’re protesting him because he beat up his girlfriend almost 5 years ago, and she has since described him as such:
“He’s not the monster everybody thinks. He’s a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He’s giving and loving. And he’s fun to be around. That’s what I love about him – he always makes me laugh. All I want to do is laugh, really – and I do that with him.”
That is the issue at hand here, stop trying to make it about anything else.
Hypocite.
he’s an idiot and so are you TJ.. what does TJ stand for? The John? as in..FULL OF SHIT?
Can R Kelly come to Halifax? He peed/s on women and, beat his rape/child porn charges.
Ah yes – the Rolling Stones. You have to remember that the 60’s were a more innocent time.

Stompin’ Tom wanted to use the same picture as the album cover for “Sudbury Saturday Night”.
True story.
OB, you’ve got the right to your opinion, those upset at the abusive behavior of Mr Brown have a right to theirs.
All I want to put out there is I look forward to hearing of his untimely death due to drugs/alcohol or another so called talent popping a cap in him. Then the supporters of him can all take comfort that , although he’s gone they still have his c rap to listen to.
Roger that, Mr. More.
I find it sad that this is even up for a debate.
The masses have put these people’s ‘images’ on a pedestal.
They may be people as well but that’s definitely not what we, the general populace, see.
To swoon and fawn and glamorize any (so called) ‘singer’, actor, model, etc … is utterly ridiculous.
He’s certainly not a genius. I would think that much is abundantly clear.
He’s contributed nothing to society worth any value whatsoever, unless you count entertaining people… distracting people from their mundane existence.
Our idiocracy is swinging wildly in favor of entertainment over a real, favorable contribution to the species… and is why we will die out long before we solve our actual, worldly problems.
I pity children today… they will grow up so distracted.. so manipulated… their entire lives, they really won’t know what it is to live. They’ll spend a lifetime longing for things without knowing what they have.

I’ve rarely heard it phrased better, Old Son.
But there’s still ocasional grounds for feeling joy that has absolutely nothing to do with personal gratification.

Calling someone names is a great way to tell them that you can’t counter their argument, there Coastreviewer, now screw off and go jerk it to some old Stones concert footage on youtube.
Roger that Ivan.
My only concern is that the discovery of a forest-dwelling teddy bear is going to create a black market for those rich kids who just have to have one. Of course, with no idea how to care for them.
reg, it says they are carnivorous. problem solved. they can eat their keepers.
