I don’t understand why people freak out at employees when something isn’t working. If a machine is broken, a) we ARE aware of it, b) we realize it IS a big inconvenience for you, but c) we have NOTHING to do with it– that is our manager’s job. And sometimes, the replacement process can take a while. Either way, just know that while you are inconvenienced, we are constantly harassed about the issue by every other person who comes in the store. We did NOT go out of our way to piss you off, so DON’T go out of your way to be nasty to us.

  1. I’m still kinda bummed the slushie machine at the blue canoe is still out of service. I mean I know it’s winter but…fix it already, ok? lol

The gen pub doesn’t really place the blame you, OP, you’re just the first person they can bitch at about it, number one and number two, you’re a stranger so they can yell at you and not have to live with the consequences (guilt or feeling bad because they’ve hurt your feelings and treated you like shit) because they don’t have to see you anymore in all likelihood. That and people don’t tend to give that much of a shit about people they don’t know.

Don’t take it personally! It’s cliche to say this but, they’re really not mad at you, they’re mad at the situation. Doesn’t make it any better but…

  2. well op…you are the public face of your organization, you are the representive that someone can vent on. whether or not that is right, its how it is.

so as a consumer if i see that somethings not working/missing, im coming to you…employee with the nametag.
