Dear HRM “taggers”:
Tagging is not art and it never will be. Any idiot can write his/her own name on something but that doesn’t make any signature a piece of artwork.
What you’re doing is creating eyesores in the city. Really, you are. No matter how much your stoner/drunk friends “think” it looks cool it doesn’t.
Now I appreciate graffiti if it’s done well and involves some type of “effort”. Again, taggers (and the rest of those self-described artists) – any idiot can write his name on something. A true artist actually creates something.
Is anybody else sick of seeing “VA” and crap all over the city?

fypt in south end is my bane.
I’m positive it’s some 14 year old loser who is terrified every time since it’s thin lettering (point blank) and takes all of 4 seconds to write.
degenerate jackass.
i live in south end also and i’m sick of seeing:
“VA”
‘Aper’
and also, yes, the FYPT (fuck you, party time)
Taggers are tools, useless ones. Probably some NSCAD drop outs that think they have talent. Those tagger reTards wouldn’t art even if they were hit by a sculpture.

Here’s an idea. Why don’t they publish the names and addresses of these idiots that do this? I’ll have to disagree that it’s some 14 year old. I’d say the person is over 18 as the amount of tagging drops after the university kids are out of town. When they come back, it spikes again, especially in the Quinpool Rd area (where a lot of university students live).
If the names and addresses of these morons was published on the front page, that would allow victims to locate their place of inhabitance an “tag” their homes on a daily basis as retribution. How would these morons feel then if their homes were continually vandalized? Would they then understand how the home/business owners feel after they’ve been tagged repeatedly by these morons? I’m sure they’d be driven mad if they had a broken window every day.
i agree that tags are stupid, however, some stencilled tags are indeed art (seen those cats around?).
