So it’s 2:30 am on Thursday night and I am awakened by this insanely loud plow scraping the pavement outside of my house. Nevermind that I live in the residential area of Young St. where I am sure dozens of other working citizens had to get up in about FOUR hours but the real kicker was THAT THERE WAS NO SNOW! Where were these guys LAST WEEK when nobody could park in the designated parking area in the front of my house because of huge boulders of snow?!?!?! NO WONDER OUR CITY HAS PLOWED THROUGH OUR 13 MILLION DOLLAR BUDGET FOR SNOW REMOVAL! The real agitator in all of this is that while this guy is scraping the pavement, when we actually need snow removal – IT WON’T BE AVAILABLE because there will be NO BUDGET LEFT. I swear to fucking god I better be able to park a car in front of my house during the next White Juan since snow removal is so vital at all hours of the night. Go Peter Kelly!

sounds like the person doing the budget doesn’t know their arse from a hole in a ground but if we all stopped paying outrageous taxes they’d forclose on our house, garnish wages etc. i suggest everyone go to city hall and pelt snowballs at them!
I was walking home lastnight, and cut through the c100/92CJCH parking lot on Agcricola. When entering the lot, I was nearly hit by a sidewalk plow clearing invisible snow. Inside the lot, there were 2 larger plows, and a huge ass dumptruck clearing a bank of snow which had been tucked into a far corner. I’m sure the company must have hired these guys to clear the snow for them, but four machines?? The lot isn’t all that big, and the noise they all made was deafening and really unnecessary, especially for a residential area. I wonder if it was one of these plows kept up the OP.

damn snow fucking plowsthe other day when all the snow fell, when the snow stopped and started to turn to freesing rain, i rushed out to get the last bit of snow out of the driveway i just finnish…a plow comes up the road..with its plow up, saw me and dropped it ( there was NO snow on the ground then, the misty rain took it away plus salt etc) Buddy scrapes the sidewalkto get the ends of the bank/slush and puts it in my fucking driveway!! then has the nerve to laugh, point and lift his plow up and drive off… i wish i would of gotten the license plate i was too angry and threw my shovel at the truck and everything… bastard!!
Yep…it’s time like that I love that I have a nice digicamera that can take movies. Several people on this board were all up on me about it but this is exactly a situation where it’s perfect…with video evidence like that they couldn’t just reprimand him as he is a rep for the city while working, the only thing they could do is fire him and for good reason.
I can think of many better ways to spend 13 million dollars than to have the plows going when it isn’t snowing. How about paying for my car after it has hit the gazillionth pothole created by these gas guzzling behemoths. There is absolutely no good reason for these pratices to be going on any more and it is time council spend less time worrying about cat bylaws and more time spent on reducing needless spending. (I.E Plowing when it isn’t needed; Cat Bylaws)
And speaking of potholes… I have never seen as many potholes as there are in this city!! If they want to spend money, they can start by filling them.

Same thing here on South Park Street…. Plows going in the middle of the night and no snow. WTF? Either the mafia has come to Halifax or someone in City Hall is having a good ol’ laugh.
