I recently moved to Halifax & use the transit system. I’m hugely disappointed. Many drivers are rude and bark at riders like circus ring masters. Selfish passengers push, elbow and stick huge bags in your path, taking seats meant for the elderly or disabled. And the smell! Don’t buses here have air fresheners? A dozen fresh mountain pine ones on each bus would be optimum. The buses are never on time. I’m always late for work. Are there any rail systems being planned for the city? —Moving Back to Town From Clayton Park Hell

Your first problem is living in Clayton Park… and mountain pine air fresheners?!
Bus stink? Is it BO? I notice a lot of young dudes don’t wear deodorant these days. I find it a bit offensive on hot days when they get all stinky.

Ha! Ha! Ha! This is my b*tch! Wow! I’ve never had something I’ve written published before!
The buses have a stench that doesn’t leave your nostrils for hours. I do want to move from CP to town. Can anyone suggest a good area to live on Mainland Halifax?
I too moved here from somewhere else. The buses are – – buses! You have to put up with BO, people who bathe in perfume, etc. My biggest complaint, besides buses that are always 10 to 20 minutes late, are strollers blocking the aisle, causing a tripping hazard for seniors and everyone else! Nowhere else in Canada can you park a stroller in the aisle. Drivers everywhere else make you put up the wheelchair seats and get the stroller out of the aisle. Someone’s going to get hurt – is that what it takes to get people to do what they should have the good sense to do in the first place? Come on – we need this regulated, or are they waiting for a lawsuit?
It wouldn’t be so bad if there was free wi-fi for my interweb tablet. Diversion always works nicely. A good game of Candy Crush could make you forget that the person next to you smells like a polecat.
Axe spray makes my eyes water. Don’t buses here have a scent free policy?
Being a card carrying member of the Peasant Trolly, I’ve have good days on the bus and frustrating ones. Buses are late because of traffic or construction, and unfortunately this city has too much of both for it’s layout. Bedford Highway is a complete mess for transit. Scent free is likely suggested but not inforced, show the bus pass or dump the change and Joe Douche can wander on bathed in Blue Stratos. Some music, reading a book, helps ignore the crazy stuff for the most part.
So you want buses to enforce the no scent policy by installing a dozen Fresh Mountain Pine air fresheners?
In keeping with the spirit of over generalizing OP I suppose you’re always bitching about something and never happy about anything…always chronically complaining and completely insufferable. C’est la vie Princess….not quite sure what you expect. Here’s my over generalization… Always driving a car! As always.
