Yesterday afternoon, as I walked home from work, I saw a huge lineup at the gas station at Young and Robie. I had thought that perhaps, with gas due to go up 7 cents/litre, that I might go home, get my car, and come to that very station to fill up. Once I saw the lineup, I said forget it, I’m not sitting there just to save about three bucks. So this morning, I walked by, gas was up 4 cents/litre, there’s no lineup at the pumps, but the two coffee chain lineups are huge! What the fuck is with you people? Yesterday you lined up to save your precious dollars to get gas before the price increase, and today you sit there in the coffee drive thru, burning gas like you got it for free! Look out the window of your car. See that empty piece of pavement with the white lines on either side? That’s called a ‘parking spot’. Now look down. See those two things sticking out below your hips? They’re called ‘legs’. If gas is so precious to you, why not try using the parking spot and your legs instead of sitting in a long lineup burning your precious $1.41/litre gas? And did you see the guy who walked in the door and back out less than 90 seconds later, holding a cuppa? That was me. There was no lineup inside the store. Unless you’ve got some legitimate reason to use the drive thru, like a physical disability that makes it difficult for you to walk, then don’t be so fucking lazy. Park your car and try going inside the store. —I Hate Lazy People

Uh, your tires are made from petroleum products there, Cap, unless you’re buying some hippie biodegradable thing from outer Guatemala, which still have to be shipped using petroleum. Everyone’s affected by big oil, even if you’re not using an internal combustion engine.
OP, if you ask the attendants politely, they’ll tell you what it’s going to go up by. They know ahead of time.

That’s true, SwampDonkey. It was a pretty broad statement I made, but the amount a bike would require is a minuscule portion of what a car requires, both initially and thru life-cycle.

If a rise of 3 bucks per tank affects your lifestyle, you cannot afford a car. Theres no way I would wait in line for gas unless it’s free. Also, I rarely use the drivethru. My rule is: coffee only, and no more than 2 cars ahead of me.
Problem is, if everybody listened to this bitch and went to the counter, the drive thru would be empty and the lineups would be inside! lol!
There is also the possibility that nobody in that drive thru was in the gas lineups the previous evening. It’s funny you brought up the gas panic over a 4 cent increase, as I was just saying the same thing last night! I was laughing at the people waiting at the pumps, lined up the street, to save a couple of bucks on ONE TANK of gas! Lol! I don’t have that kind of patience.
Everybody knows the drive-thru is faster, no matter how long the line up is, than in store service. That is a fact. Besides Timmies is worth it!
We all do things for convenience OP, even you, being that you elected to pay for someone to make coffee for you instead of making it yourself. Those coffee cups do a ton of damage to the environment too.
Ob, driving your car to a gas station to fill up then driving home? I wouldsay that is just as bad as using the drive thru on the way to work.

You are basing your bitch on the assumption that it was the same people lining up for coffee as were lining up for gas the previous day. That is some flawed logic there.
I think OP was talking about people in a generic sense when comparing the line-ups at the gas station and then Timmies the following day. People just being people. Are the luckiest people in the world. (Channeling my inner Streisand again.)

You assume sitting at tim horton’s isn’t a daily routine for these drivers. So they’re still justified in filling up before the hike if their routine hasn’t changed because they’re not using any MORE gas.
