I would just like to share how much I love the “couldn’t give a fuck” attitude the Metro Transit drivers seem to have. Standing directly in front of the bus stop, I bent over to tie my shoe. Whilst tying it, my bus decided to just drive right on by. I had not made eye contact with the driver, so not a single fuck was given as to what bus I was waiting for. To add insult to injury, later that day I saw my other bus driving towards the stop, and ran for it, as I was about 10 metres away from the stop. By the time the bus was driving by, I was standing at the stop frantically waving my arms. He slowed momentarily, but then thought better of it and continued on his merry way. —Left Standing in the Rain

you have to jump up and dash for for it when you see it coming o.p., otherwise it will just keep going.
Go beat up a crossing guard and steal their sign. When your bus is approaching jump into the street and hold up the sign. Also what dumbass decides to tie their shoe while the bus is approaching instead of waiting and tying it ON the bus? Even when I was pregnant in the bitter winter at 6:15 in the morning waiting for the bus to work you bet your ass I was on my feet at the curb squinting in the wind in the direction of the bus at least 5 minutes before it was was due juuuust in case. Also if I think I may miss the bus I will wait indoors for the next one, I never cut it close especially in inclement weather.
Cheesus, I hope you never have to use the transitway in ottawa, ob! Ypu gotta flag them mother fuckers down. You’dnever get your bus!
Just keep your shoes tied, be on time and keep your hand raised OP.
Wear loafers.
As much as I love the amount of Nova Scotians and other easterners I meet and become friends with in Calgary, I really hope Halifax bus drivers never come out west. Our bus drivers here are friendly and forgiving and we don’t need to be infected with Halifaxtransititis. If I’m running to a bus stop and the driver sees me they will stop even if they just pulled away from the curb. And I love the fact people can bring coffee and dogs on the buses/trains. 🙂
I heard on the radio that too many young adults these days don’t know how to tie their shoes because they weren’t taught how….Velcro.
Next time, wear velcro.
But seriously though, everyone knows that you have to be right by the curb and look like you want to take that bus for it to stop. Do you think that the drivers are going to stop for everyone who is remotely close to a bus stop and ask them if they want a ride? Of course not.
i still don’t get why they were on strike.
You don’t give more money and less hours to chimps.
