To the track coach at the Dalplex last night, we saw the freaking sign, we know the track was booked for your lululemon wearing runners, we were just getting our water, chill the eff out.

Didn’t you know since they were wearing lululemon you were not fit to be in their presence? Do you have silver fibres sewn into your clothing? Ha! Commoner.
You’re kidding right? You were near the track past 5:30? How are you still a Dalplex member?
Save your money & if you still want to practice running, go to the commons at night or some of the other fun spots around Gottingen street & see if the muggers can catch you.
I’m willing to place money on you improving your distance times. Cause its been proven “you can run faster if your scared”
It don’t get any better than that…save money, faster times !
I frequent the track @ Dalplex regularly & there are certainly some ‘odd ducks’ on that loop, I have read the rules sign at the only entrance & wish others would too.
I am pissed that so called runners get on the track with a flurry of pre-run stretches akin to stripper warm ups & then the predictable jerk about with the Ipod wires for the BIG 1 lap run, I dub them the ‘one lap wonders’ they naturally pass me in a blinding speed rush thanks God their running work-out is just a one lapper. Good luck with that.
Then there is the deluded folks that think they are in the a crowded NYC marathon these ones cut you off , so when they pass you & there may be only 2 runners on the entire track they feel the need to pass you & then cut in front of you so close I could use their back hair for dental floss, hey dude there are only two of us here!!
I must comment on the old fashion rule breakers, it says “inside half of the track runs counterclockwise” “outside clockwise” I am totally perplexed at the non comformity not to mention total disregard for safety that not following this rule makes. Now I know it’s hard to remember every simple rule being self absorbed in you Phd Thesis or maybe the lululemon pants are too tight on your …well..lululemons..but jeez it’s not hard. What are you thinking everyone is running at you perhaps you are wrong.
Next the daycare trolls, NO IT IS NOT OK to leave your 4 years old on the track while you run a lap or two, they do not stay in by the waterfountain, they saunter out into the track, one kid did a cartwheel into my path 5 feet in front of me, his lucky day I saw him…. the track is also round & has some blind spots espically if there is a kid of 2 feet tall lying on the floor, hiding from his brother!! OK folks I am a 180lb person (was 215lbs last year thanks Dalplex) if I’m running & hit a 4 year old, who will suffer the most?? they have care available for kids at certain times in the fun zone check with the desk & find out what times that is available , leaving kiddies on the track unattended is totally wrong.
Next up there are the young muffin top kids, nice beer guts kids must you run in slow packs of three shouting at each other as you all got Ipods going, how in the world do you watch video & expect your run to even help. note to kids 2 large donairs is not considered an appetizer.
Oh the sign also says to stretch in the weight room floor area , can’t miss it just right of the stairs.
I remember my university days so i understand your need to be seen & wear the latest gear, cool, but good manners & just plain safety for gym/track users & kiddies never goes out of style, look both ways when you enter the track as well as the street, do not cut people off.Don’t leave you kids unattended.
My speed running days are over, I plod along and am quite proud of my 45 minute runs (5km+). I will respect your track time if you respect mine, My workout is as important to me as yours is to you. So, read & stick to the rules, don’t be a safety hazard. Smarten up. see you onj the track..
Value Village Track man.
Unless you’re a student dalplex is a HUGE waste of money. Almost $100 a month AND you have to pay extra for kiddie care if you bring your spawn with you.
The tower is almost as much of a rip off, ~$60 a month and the place (esp the locker rooms) smells REALLY REALLY badly and unless you sign up for a machine five weeks in advance good luck finding any sort of cardio machine whatsoever.
I hate to say it, but if you’re looking for a gym membership your best bet is to go with one of the chain gyms in the area. As much as I’ve dealt with the snots that work at one notable gym chain, they have better facilities (cleaner too!) and charge less.
And as a bonus, this particular chain doesn’t allow belly tops….so you’d no longer have to see that one particular bitch working out in a fucking bra top with her flabby gut hanging over her lululemons as she spends 20 minutes walking on a treadmill at 2.5 with full on make up and perfectly coiffed hair, not even breaking a sweat (you know y’all’ve seen at least one of these bitches at dalplex/tower-type gyms)
