We seem to be experiencing a rash of gun crime, some but not all drug related. The great metropolis is seeking a new police chief, maybe it’s time to get a person with some experience when it comes to dealing with gunslingers and other assorted filth, and not a desk jockey, good at administration and other assorted paper pushing. I’m not implying or inferring Chief Beazley was/is that type, I’m just making a suggestion to the recruiters that we need a “new style” of experienced chief, with a “Dirty Harry” mindset. —Book ’em Danno

  1. Yup, I just knew it. Get rid of the long gun registry and all those (law abiding) hunters and sportsmen (who actually registered their weapons) would use it as an excuse to run amok. Tell me, how easy is it to shoot a bolt action, scope mounted .303 when you hold it sideways – gangsta style. >; )

The minute the 5-0 start making real progress on gun violence and it’s less photogenic siblings – gang and drug violence, watch for some aggrieved citizen’s group backed by advocacy lawyers, reams of Swedish statistics and at least a couple of Few Democrat M.P.s squealing about racial profiling and class prejudice on the part of the H.R.P.D.
    Deja vu, all over again.

  2. we don’t need a matt dillon here, we need courts with some fucking balls. barring that, we need a law agency that will not play nice with this shit. what we really need, is for people to stop being so fucking afraid of the dope dealing little fucking pukes, that infest this country.
just thank your fucking lucky stars, that i don’t go all rambo. because if and when i did, there would be a fucking body count, like world war two.
and there would be no fucking cry baby lawyers to save their asses. the justice would be swift and final. but of course, i would be the one to get fucking locked up, for doing the jobs that others are sposed to be doing.what a fucked up system we have here. batman and robin are deffinately needed here.
this fucking shit is going on too long, and it is about time it stopped. if the cops can’t or won’t do the job, then let a biker gang come in and do it. at least when the hell’s angels were here, you knew crime was down in most areas. better the devil you know, and can control, than the hundred little ones you can’t.

  3. Um, you should probably stop saying shit like that LS, since you’ve given your name out on here a billion times, said where you lived, and that you supposedly have a license to carry a gun at all times. I’m sure whoever gives out those licenses wouldn’t be too fond of your tirades, going on about how you want to shoot people for any reason you see fit, usually not having anything to do with your life being in danger.

  4. @LS: lololol

Your senior moments – er, um, posts – have become a constant source of entertainment. Keep them coming, LS.

  5. Didn’t see this type of shit when the Angels were in charge of the drug trade. Face facts people, drugs are here to stay, and as long as the criminals control it, nobody wins. Legalize and tax it all… Problem solved!!!

  6. that’s funny shitd, i’ve spoken to many oldsters and they miss the good old days when the angels ruled

  7. We’ve been doing it the law enforcement method for years, and it has made the problem worse. Maybe it’s time to take a different approach, seeing as the old way is a proven failure.

  8. “that’s funny shitd, i’ve spoken to many oldsters and they miss the good old days when the angels ruled” – I guess those oldsters must be a bit senile pg, because I certainly remember the violence, thefts, vandalism, extortion, rapes, and murders.

  9. Using a gun in the commission of a crime needs to have a mandatory sentence, 10-15 years maybe. If they’re young offenders, 10-15 years in a youth facility/prison. That’s just the start, any other charges if applicable can be added. Drugs and guns aren’t going anywhere unfortunately. So I believe getting the perpetrators using firearms off the street as long as possible would be a good step forward towards making the city a bit safer.
The Angels BTW may be a bit more professional if that’s the right word but they are more lethal than the Keystone crooks running things right now.

  10. all well and fine there, but who will protect you and yours, if it ever came down to it. and if anyone wants to fuck around, then hell will be having some new guests. yeah, i am a duly licensed bodygaurd and security person, have been since i worked for pinkerton’s, way back when. and yeah, i get that some see violence as a last resort and even a lost cause. but really now, you would defend the scum out there? why?
the cops do what they can, i know. but the chicken shit in-justice system lets these pieces of shit, back out in a few hours, if not right away. i am a survivalist, and as such, i will survive, long after most would die, in any type of disaster. i can, and have eaten what i killed, even that which would make most of you sick. that was in the military, where you had to survive by wits and skill. remember the schemes of old, ivan. they taught us, that if hungry enough, your mind closed off to all else.
when you are in the woods for a week or two, with no other grub, you become adept at eatingb watever you catch. and i never lost any weight then, gained a couple pounds before it was over. yep, bring on a holocost, i’m ready. and am i afraid of some gutless little assholes, nope, remember, i pack 24/7.

  11. If the drug war continues, you can be sure the gun play and violence will as well. They go hand in hand.

  12. Nostalgia for the days when the hell’s angels “ran things” assuming they ever actually did, seems like Conservatives being nostalgic for the 50’s, or old Soviets looking back fondly on the Stalin era. Given the way that society has degraded just in my lifetime, in terms of things like simple courtesy, consideration, manners, respect for others, does anybody honestly believe that todays “organized criminals” have actually bucked the trend and improved their standards of behavior. Seriously? The last 20 years in Quebec have well and truly put the lie to the old O.C. apologist’s dictum “We only kill each other”. The worst of it is, human history has shown that when societies are faced with a clear choice between tyranny and anarchy, they will invariably opt for the former despite the fact that the cure is often worse than the original ailment. And I don’t have an answer (or a pithy lolcat link). In fact, I equally distrust those hardline conservatives and bleeding heart lefties who claim that they do.

  13. well said commander but at the least the angels hit what they aimed for, unlike the apple dumpling gang

  14. Here that’s true enough. Until they start playing around with bombs like their Montreal counterparts. They can only be called Crimes of Community Service until some innocent bystander gets killed. I’m amazed that the “collateral” bodycount isn’t in the triple digits.

  15. So you want our cops to be more trigger happy?

There were arrests made very quickly after the recent shootings. That is the police’s job, to make arrests after the fact. They do very little to actually prevent crime. The police chief doesn’t get a say in how long these people are off the street, and the kind of cops with that dirty harry, “to hell with the paperwork” mindset do a lot to ensure that these criminals are back on the street much sooner than they should be. Paperwork and stuff like, you know, actually knowing following the law to the letter is a pretty essential part of police work.

I think we need more intelligent cops that aren’t just on the force so they might one day be able to blow someone away and get away with it. Sounds crazy right?

  16. call me crazy, thomas. i worry about random victims of bad shooting but the cops tend to shoot more accurately

  17. Not always the case PG, although I agree in principle. My friend’s dog caught a stray bullet from a cop years back, while he was inside his living room.

That’s not the point though. I don’t remember the last time I heard of a cop shooting someone around here. They are not out bodyguards, they dont stop crime from happening, they investigate it. I dont see how making Clint Eastwood the chief of police is going to make anything any better. This bitch doesn’t really make any sense to me, it’s up to prosecutors to lock people up for as long as possible and trigger happy cops who dont follow procedure make that harder to do, ask any defense lawyer.

  18. The great things about drug dealing….they shoot each other. The bad thing…inocent bystanders.
