Dear Halifax,
My Tailbone thanks you for not salting the sidewalks. You have not only ruined my night, but most likely a week of what would have been filled with skiing. Get your shit together and make it safe for people to walk by clearing and salting the streets and sidewalks in a timely manner.
Love always,

surely you were in a park or square somewhere or in front of a government building or graveyard when this travesty happened. Otherwise, I think you’re misdirecting your anger.
If you were in front of a residence, might I recommend next time to knock on their door and call to complain at the same time… let the homeowner open the door and listen in as you report their address and the nature of your call/injury sustained.
Seeing as this happened last night, and no one is required to have their sidewalks cleared right away, maybe you want to be a little more careful when walking after a storm.
I seriously think people forget how to live in snow. What is wrong with this city? Do people forget we live in Nova Scotia? Why must people bitch and complain about the winter? I’ll admit, we haven’t had a winter like this in a while, but come on! Prepare yourself before you head out the door!
might i suggest those little thingys mountaineers use to scale peaks. crampons i believe they are called. just strap em right onto ya boots. save you some anger and a sore ass.
I agree with Bitch, Please. People aren’t obligated to have the walks cleared/salted right away. Honestly, who in the hell enjoys shoveling more than once anyway? even if it was HRM and not the residence’s responsibility to have the wlak cleared, they aren’t normally out until the next day anyway for the same reason, that and they’d have to pay them twice. Plus then you’d probably bitch that the bobcat was in your way. Go to the mall and spend $5 and get youself a pair of the rubber slip covers that have little prongs for ice ont he that go right over the bottom of your shoes.
Congrats, OP, you’re an ass. You were probably out in that stuff your bloody runners/basketball shoe/whatever the hell is fashionable (if the OP is a chick, she’s no doubt wearing Ugglies) and those things aren’t exactly the safest in snowy conditions. If you must wear a pair of shoes, wear shoes that have some decent tread on them. My hiking shoes are more than sufficient for this weather, and sure, I’ve slipped, but it’s been off of snowbank or on some really slick ice. If you don’t like that option, john’s right; there are actually versions of those spikes made for normal shoes, and I have them for my dress shoes. They’re decent. But that would mean effort, I guess.
People, businesses and the like are required to clear their part of the sidewalk in a timely manner. I think it’s 36 hours or so, but the dumb fucks in the HRM, THE By -Law Enforcement Officers issue tickets to individuals who haven’t, even though 10 meters away, HRM properties haven’t done shit to their own bit of walking strip. Now that’s what I call equal punishment under the By-Law
The little bit of snow that accumulated last night probably wasn’t the cause of the slipping, but the inches of ice underneath that have been left all over the city in the past few weeks by people who don’t salt, days and weeks after a storm.
I wish I the time to dwell on everytime i’ve fallen during the winter.
You do have that kind of time. You took the time to about not having time. Ironic Moron ,!..
