I just heard a radio report about a protest that took place and I could hear the protestors in the background. Now, I fully support the right of all groups and individuals to make their feelings known through public protest……but, I swear, if I hear one more round of “Hey ho! Hey ho! So-and-so has got to go”, my egg-shaped head is going to explode and spew it’s contents hither and tither.

Protestors, with all of your combined intellectual might and creative capacity, can’t you come up with something a little more original than the old “Hey ho! Hey ho!” C’mon! You can do it! —This egg is gonna’ crack up!

  1. Just be grateful the Ragging Grannies weren’t there singing a “hilarious” parody of Camptown Races in which the the inadequacy of H@rp#r’s wedding tackle is referenced frequently.
Maybe if CSIS is messing with their websites they’ll be forced to go to a new songbook.

But yeah, Hey Hey, Ho Ho – Mindless repetition has got to go.

  2. COMBINED INTELLECTUAL MIGHT AND CREATIVE CAPACITY

You must remember that intellectual might and creative capacity varies inversely as the number of participants engaged in any particular activity. Hence, in the case of large, college chants which, by definition, are a combined activity, neither intelligence nor creativity can play a role. As a consequence, the request to come up with something a little more creative is misconceived.

    A pleasure as always,

    Cheerio!

  3. ^^^ Good point. Collective thinking works well for small groups engaged in problem solving but, in the case of public protest, the mob mentality tends to stifle any creative thinking or innovation. I’m expecting too much by asking for some novelty.

  4. as with trying to communicate/debate any topic with protesters these days it boils down to how often and how loud they can repeat the same bloody statement until it frustrates the opposing party. Even when backed with un-deniably accurate facts…not cherry-picked snippets of data that weren’t interpreted in a scientifically proper manner, they just scream louder and louder over and over again. Its like Family Guy’s donkey…no, No, NO, NO NO NO NO NO HEEEEEE HAWWWWWW HEEEE HAWWWWWW!!!

  5. ^^^ yes. The shouting down of those you disagree with is one of the most childish practices I’ve ever seen. I understand that we don’t want people going around promoting hatred and violence but, aside from the most extreme views, I’d much rather hear what someone has to say – even if I disagree with or even despise what they are saying. It’s called freedom and democracy and it’s what many people have died for in wars. However, many of our citizens seem to be oblivious of this fact and see no problem with denying someone’s right to an opinion.

  6. There once was a man from Nantucket. Who was banned by the Mod, but said ‘suck it!’
He reset his IP and said ‘no bended knee!’ kicked his heels with a Screee and a fuck it

^rich in allegory. Makes u think.

  7. Furious for LTWWB Poet Laureat

How about it, Moderator? Amnesty for all who participated in the Spartacus Revolt yesterday.
Bring some humour back to the site to keep le cafard at bay.

  8. Oh! A protest!

Hey, everyone get out your clown suit and ice-cream buckets so a really important issue can be taken seriously!!!!

  9. So, Moderator – any further thought about an amnesty for the Spartacists? Of course, you probably can’t restore Paingirl’s account, with her 16,000+ comments and her restaurant reviews, which incidentally, probably assisted this rag and it’s advertisers. All because she stood up for a friend. That’s kind of like cutting down old growth forest, don’t you think. Or, to use one of my favorite literary metaphors – you killed a mockingbird. And, while I’m not particularly religiously minded, I seem to recall reading somewhere that that’s a sin.

  10. This shit just got real if PG is involved.

However, I’m sure the Mod has gotten more than tired of this place….. Probably didn’t know what they were getting themselves into, lol.

  11. What’s so hard about moderating, Nukka? You make sure that people are following a very limited set of guidelines and other than that, your job is just to post bitches/loves … hell, you don’t even have to proof read them, you can just post anything. That’s the boring part, though, it’s more fun to ban people senselessly.
