Leave already. Ya we know it doesn’t have this and it doesn’t have that, but we like it that way so please take your arrogant asses a few provinces over, or better yet, go take a dip out by Peggys Cove during the next hurricane. What the fuck are you still doing here? Leave. —2Stoned2MostlyCare

  1. Actually I live here and I don’t just “like it this way” I like it here and am proud to be form here, but I think it needs a lot of improvement just like any other place in the world. Asshole lazy apathetic pot-head losers like yourself who don’t do shit to help their community piss me off more than arrogant out-of-towners.

  2. While i’ve got absolutely no problem with smoking pot…if its respected like alcohol, & you don’t drive, give it to kids etc.
The stupidity of your handle there ,specifically 2stoned”2 care” part, makes me wonder why did you bother to bitch ?
You don’t care, you’ve said so yourself. Perhaps someday…if you ever grow up,you may still smoke pot, but perhaps you’ll learn caring is a 2 way street.

  3. I have no problem with smoking pot either, I hate asshole lazy apathetic alcoholic losers, asshole lazy apathetic brunette losers, asshole lazy apathetic dog-owner losers, asshole lazy apathetic sports fans losers ALL the same.

If you happen to be all of those things except the asshole lazy apathetic loser, then you’re cool with me.

  4. Someones been reading Kay’s posts I see !!! Anyways – pot aside , NS is awesome !!! Backwards and far behind as we are perceived , we have a great place and I love it and miss it always !!

Thats how we live and I tend to agree with the stoner on this bitch . Annoys the hell out of me when people bitch about what we don’t have , yada yada yada !!! Go home then if you don’t like it here .

  5. saying something like what the OP just did is like asking a child if they want something to cry about when they are already crying. Here is my train of thought….bare with me here. If there is a complaing…like the less than stellar driving habits in the city/province, then it behooves not only the person complaining about it but everyone else as well to take note and try and rectify the problem. this is RESPONSIBILITY. MY first weekend here, i ask a lady politely “excuse me ma’am, could you please tell me how to get to this location?” and she met me with a big FUCK OFF you filty creature. And this is to a clean cut, properly dressed and recently showered me!! ive been to the bronx and not been told something as rotten as that. so it left a very very sour impression on the “friendly maritimer” so…OP…if you are pissed off that an out of towner or transplanted canadian doesnt like it here because of this or that…drown them with kindness…instead of being a douchebag on a forum about it.

  6. Cuja12, I’m sure LS would love to “bare” with you…

It’s not anyone’s responsibility to police politeness, you dolt. No one gives a shit about rectifying the problem of the lady who was mean to you. People give a shit about improving schools, health-care, roads, etc.

  7. Or they don’t give a shit, in which case they’re asshole lazy apathetic losers.

Tell you how I really fizz?

    I fizz… good?

  8. weedhog, is that you, telling you know who, to take a flying fuck outta here? if not,oh well. we all would like to see that soon, but then this place would be a dead zone.

  9. waiting for the other shoe to drop……well i think shes actually stuck to the bottom of the shoe….

  10. lol it’s still funny paingirl, just in a different way: we’re laughing at you instead of with you 😛

That is how I really feel, although it doesn’t have much to do with the OP, I tend to go off on tangents… so “bare” with me… hehe

  11. I’m trying to figure out WHY it is that Nova Scotians are so defensive on here.

Are you seriously saying that there is NOT a significant problem with racism here?

    Excuse me?

The fact that someone says that “Nova Scotians are this”, or “Americans are that”…or “Catholic priests do whatever”…does NOT mean that they think it applies to ALL the group. That would be, of course, ridiculous…

However, by going into defence mode, with a “love it or leave it” attitude is probably not very helpful, it’s certainly not helping the pope in Rome!

I think the proper reaction to the whole “cross” story is not “Oh My God, I can’t believe someone would DO that here!!”, but rather “You know what? It’s time, right now, right here…to address this problem once and for all.”

We all know VERY WELL that there is a lot of racism, especially against black folks, here in NS. Why, you might ask, would it be more common here than other provinces, like Alberta? That’s not fair!

The answer is in our history. Black folks in NS have been receiving the shitty end of the stick in this province for 250 years, before the first Alberta cowboy gay-basher even set foot in Alberta. There is a loooongggg timeline at play here.

From broken promises to the Loyalist blacks that died of poverty and disease in 1780’s Shelburne, …to the citizens of 1960’sAfricville, to the proven racism of recent HRM police members – the history is long and deep.

Whenever you have an area where differing cultures have shared a common history over a long time, whether it be in the deep south, the midde east, or North Preston…you will read horror stories of hate, distrust and degradation. And when one side has held the balance of wealth and power, mythologies are devolped to justify that power, and passed on from generation to generation…

I suggest, if you have not already, that you get a hold of the recent novel “The Book of Negroes” by the NS black writer Lawrence Hill.

The problem with treating the cross incident as a one-off anomaly is this: It has been shown over and over that while we DO copy our parents’ behaviours when it comes to certain mannerisms and, social ‘attitudes’, especially before puberty (momma’s lil boy)…MOST of our later learned behaviors come from our peer groups and ‘community’ at large… You can read up on it, and I’m sure you will agree.

An example that proves this, we don’t usually dress like our folks, listen to their music (past puberty) etc etc….in fact we usually REJECT much that our parents believe, unless it’s supported by our peers…

And so, unfortunately for we Nova Scotians, I think we must look long and hard at MORE than just the “parents” of these two young men, and take a painful look in our collective mirror…The time has, indeed come, to make this a major issue in schools, in gov’t, on the TV, and yeah, in your face people…

I’ve even heard Nova Scotians that begrudge the “award” given to Africville descendents…saying why should WE apologize? Why should WE give them any money? WE didn’t take their land….

    Was it YOU I heard?

  12. Wait… who said that there isn’t a significant problem problem with racism here?

I must have missed that comment…

I wasn’t aware we were talking about racism

  13. im really sorry fizz, on occasion i type so fast that i pick up a transposition error or two without realizing it. thank you very much for taking time out of your day to remind me of that. i found i do that in long number chains as well. but noones perfect. and just a question…was it not racism that was shown to me when 12 black men swarmed myself and a friend of mine and were let off by the judge with a mere peace bond because it was “night” why does everything have to devolve into race. There is only ONE RACE…the Human race. the rest is culture….love your culture, live as ONE RACE.
