I can’t believe what is happening with the public library these days. If it wasn’t bad enough with the screaming daycare in the back, now there is a dog running loose inside. For the last few Saturdays at the Keshen Goodman library there has been some kids program taking place that has a dog in the building. Let me stress this is NOT a seeing eye dog. Whatever happened to rules? If I brought animals in the library would I get kicked out? Most likely yes. The library is for people (preferably quiet people) not pets. —Just Want to Read

  1. That library is VERY kid friendly, and as long as it is, it’s not going to be a quiet place to do anything.

Try going to the chairs in the fiction section by the large windows that look out onto Lacewood. Or bring ear plugs.

Or visit when there’s no kids programming. I’ll usually hit the library up on wednesday or thursday evenings around 6 or 7 before I head over to the gym and it’s pretty quiet then.

  2. I don’t know where this library is but, teaching kids to respect animals sounds like an awesome idea to me.
I’d go to the library more if there was a cute pooch there.

O/P needs to pull that stick outta thier cornhole.

  3. I see more and more places not bothering to keep animals outside. This may be a different situation… otherwise keep the feckin dog in the car! Are you THAT insecure?

  4. WTF….a daycare in a library. I hope those little fuckers are quiet. Was it that greyhound that escaped after it’s owner tripped and fell in Shubie?

  5. There is a program that exists where children read to dogs, it helps their confidence because a dog can’t read and won’t judge them. It sounds sappy and weird, but it actually works. It could be that.

  6. HAHAHA I’m picturing this program happening with a bunch of cats, abc123.

And the hilarity that’s going on in my head right now is hilarious.

  7. Well if they were anything like my girlie they’d just get up and push the book away and sit in their lap/tummy/chest and paw their face.

Molly doesn’t like anything that takes her mommy’s attention away from her!

  8. at least the dog is user friendly. could be someone there yelling in a ifferent language, peple talking on cels, oe even making a general ass of themself. but you have a dog, maybe he is being used as a trining aid for something. is pavlov anywhere close by?
or how about sherlock, or maybe, it’s one of the hounds of hell, come to get you, for all the shit you have done to other people o.p.?

  9. libraries are freak shows now..i couldn’t take the main branch in vancouver when i was there..

  10. You’re gonna bitch about this??? Go fuck yourself OP!

“TPOC, through its Paws To Read™ program, provides Child Certified Therapy Dogs and handlers to schools and libraries to help students who struggle with reading skills.

The dogs are experienced Therapy Dogs, visiting in hospitals, retirement residences and long-term care centres. They are proud graduates of the TPOC Therapy Dog Evaluation.

To qualify for participation in the Paws To Read™ program, the dogs must pass an additional evaluation, the Interaction With Children Evaluation, to verify that they love working with children. “
