Sorry, world, for that massively stupid closing ceremony. I couldn’t sit through that. And I’m really, really sorry if you decided for some reason to watch the entire thing yourself. —Eye Hurty

yeah, but mr. young kinda made up for picklebreath
Are you serious? Get over it you obviously have large expectations.
The pop music at the end was terrible. I’d rather hear flaws in their music, then hearing them suck at lip syncing.
What a way to show talent.
I thought the Closing Ceremony was going great, even with that retarded (oops sorry is that not politically correct?) mime, until one event, or group of people, ruined it all. No, not any protesters or politicians. I’m talking about Nickelback.
What the FUCK were they thinking!?
I’m just worried that folks watching in countries where self-deprecating humor is non-existent will think we were being almost entirely serious. :/
The one that came out as a curling rock and then gave a monologue was distasteful to me “The swiss army knife does everything but pick up after itself”….SERIOUSLY? They’re not going to understand that as a joke. “When you pee in the snow we know who did it”…..oy…..she just sucked and it wasn’t funny.
I’m with Q on this one. I fucking HATE nickelback!
It would have been great to end it with Classified… Oh Canada!
they aren’t too bad if you don’t listen to radio and have them stuck on repeat every day all day….
kinda like when Sarah McLachlan’s shit-tacular ‘adia’ played every 2 hours every day for months on end.
ug, that still haunts me.
I don’t mind Nickleback when I have earplugs in.
I didn’t even watch the Opening or the Closing Ceremonies, but I have them downloaded. Maybe someday when I have absolutely nothing else to watch, I might see them.
teehee pirate jenny…i can see folks goin wow no wonder they have the beaver on their money! look at the size of those things
the opening wasn’t bad since you have it downloaded… just skip through it to the effects and you’ll be impressed.
I can only take so many pan shots of useless dancing…
the technology was the cool part of it by far.
I could cope with floating giant beavers, Nickelback wasn’t even that bad (even considering they were Nickelback), it was friggin Hedley that drove me around the bend. Why are they famous?
yeah they REALLY suck it hard
you can thank that fucking shit idol show for them being remotely ‘known’…
I don’t mind Hedley just after someone has stabbed steak-knives in my ears.
i’m sorry too, that this shit even got started, but ah, it’s finally over, now for a month 0f fucking recaps, ouch.
the closing ceremony wasn’t entirely bad except for the excrement played towards the end…what was that anyway? a ripoff of a shitty Pink song? and were the podiums really necessary? if only the hydraulics failed then and stuck them up there.
I liked the closing ceremonies until the name brand celebrities started singing.
Mimes? They had a MIME?????
In the same ceremony that included Neil Young?????
MIMES? Oh, dear . . .
call me umm whatever i don’t care; but if i’m meeting someone new and the subject turns to music; i will ask them if they like : nickelback, kiss, or bon jovi ; if the answer is yes to any of these it HIGHLY unlikey we could ever be friends:)
The whole Olympics, NBC had great coverage that got past the worst Canadian stereotypes. For once, the world saw Canada past all that… and then at the end, we use those stereotypes to degrade ourselves.
And that “musical-acts-you’re-embarrassed-to-share-this-country-with” themed concert.
I wanted to see all the lights go down and Rush break into Tom Sawyer at some point….That would have been AWESOME.
Neal Young was cool.
The rest of it looked like a bunch of Canadians crashed a superbowl halftime show.
