Every year it’s the same thing. Every year I’m amazed at how stupid some people are and how little common sense they seem to have. This is my bitch. Every summer I see people walking their dogs in town among throngs of people subjecting them to many dangers. But the thing that makes me so sorry these poor animals have the owners they do is when these said owners take their canines out in heat waves to strut their stuff and get noticed because of their cute or powerful dogs and are oblivious to the harm they cause their beloved (or not so beloved) pets. Do you not realize how much a dog’s padded feet must burn walking on hot pavement all day long in the heat of the day? How brainless are you people? Try walking on super hot sidewalks and asphalt barefoot for hours at a time. I’m sure you would not be able to stand it for more than a couple of minutes. A dog is at your mercy because it cannot tell you how much agony it is suffering unless you teach it how to talk which I think is highly unlikely because your lack of intelligence is clearly evident. If you must stroke your ego with an animal, then wait till the sun goes down and the pavement is cooler or purchase protective booties for your pooch. —Woof Woof

…and don’t do this either http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article…
is this for real?
The last time we had a political riot in the downtown (remember when the Wank Bloc targeted Bud the Spud because of his ties to Halliburton – j/k) we had a line up of riot police and K-9 units outside the store. The German Shepherds looked so cute in their little kevlar vests and leather booties. Cute, and throat-rippingly lethal. Glad they’re on our side.
Well Op, I wonder why you see so many more dogs trotting around in the tropics; the heat never appeared to bother them much from what I saw; and I think those pads on their feet are pretty thick!
Ever wonder about how so many people in hot climates go barefoot? They have thick skin from not wearing shoes!
As far as dog’s feet go, I think it’s the area up in between the pads which is sensitive; you see them in pain from salt on the sidewalks in winter; but that sensitive area is raised off the ground (thanks to pads) and so I think walking down a hot sidewalk is easier than walking down a salty, slushy street where it’s easy for that stuff to find it’s way in between the pads.
I’ll never forget my harem who escorted me just about everywhere i went (they quckly get to know the people who feed and cuddle them and become loyal pretty quick) when I was down south on this little island. Lots of skinny homeless mixed breeds that for the most part seemed really happy. In the day I’d see them lazing under trees in little cliques and one of them would even let me carry her into the water for a swim, and if she wasn’t in the water she’d be sprawled out on on my beach towel!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…
one thing is for sure…
idiocy is abound.
I always feel sorry for the pit bulls and rotties when you look at the slack jawed mutant holding the fucking leash. Some skinny chested, pecker brained, gangsta wannabe jism stain with the iq of a centipedes nutsack. I think that’s what makes them turn vicious, trying to get away from the doper dummy.
There’s a modern retelling of “Ferdinand the Bull” in there Baz. Tyson the Pit Bull who doesn’t want to dogfight, or wear a 12 carat $ on his collar, but would rather be a therapy dog at a nursing home or the beloved pet of a suburban family. Coming from Pixar in the summer of 2012, featuring the voices of Owen Wilson, Angelina Jolie and 50 Cent as Michael Vick.
As a dog owner I would like to say you are absolutely retarded OB. My dog loves going for long walks in the summer, of course the ideal is grassy parks, but sometimes to get there one must walk on asphalt.
I agree that people that shouldn’t take their dogs to busy places like Spring Garden road to show off, but the idea that walking on pavement in the summer time is cruel is retarded.
Make sure to bring some water for your pup when out and everything is fine.
nice one commander http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s90/rob…
*Beam* -you were my muse on that one, Ferdinand
Unless it’s a really hot day and the pavement is hot to the touch, I don’t worry about it. The bottoms of my dog’s paws are a lot tougher than the skin on the bottom of my feet.. and the skin on my feet is pretty tough from walking on rocks and gravel barefoot.. my dog has been walking on gravel and pavement a lot more than I have, so if the heat doesn’t hurt my bare feet, it wouldn’t hurt my dog’s.
i don’t worry about the hot feet, but you need to watch out for heat stroke. it can be deadly in dogs as well as bipeds. you must get their core temperature down as quickly as you can, especially with larger breeds
have you been ingesting large amounts of almonds zedman? http://jstorplants.org/2010/07/26/cyanide-…
I walk my large breed dog everywhere- within moderation. He has separation anxiety and is miserable left home since we got him, which we’re still training him out of. We bring bottles of water everywhere for him and a dish to drink from and take plenty of breaks everywhere we can. We also don’t take him out midday or on super hot days. I think it’s a bit unreasonable for you to complain that everyone who takes their dogs with them do it for attention; we do it because he panics alone and because he’s our best bud and really does like going out. We also are careful to take precautions against heat stroke and have learned to check for signs of rising temperature. Also, it’s been a pretty chilly June for dogs and humans alike, with a few exceptions. As long as people are taking care of their dogs, don’t judge them for having them in their company!
